"Free speech" in South America vs "free speech" in the USA ?
I have noticed all the signs telling Bush to get the hell out. They call him a fascist and put a Hitler mustache on him. How do they manage to express themselves like since most are not a "democracy"? What would happen if they tried that in America? They would be put in "free speech" zones - out of sight of King George and his handlers - with police and security with tear gas and stuns on ready. So who really has this so-called "free speech"? Just a thought...

1. yep... I still hear the old "this is more free than most" but really
that's just a bunch of hogwash spewed by people who wouldn't know free speech if it bit them on the ass.

2. At the same time...
1) If a foreign leader came to our country, people could say just about anything and protest very strongly. Heck, they don't even have to come here. Pat Robertson called for Chavez to be assassinated, and nothing happened to him, yeah?

2) I'd be curious to see what would happen if the people in those countries had such fierce demonstations against their own governments.

Just pointing out that protesting foreign leaders is not the same as protesting the leader of one's own land.

3. Surfing the other day, I found a "news channel" commentator
making the remark that many of the rioters were wearing masks and commenting further that they do this in fear of retaliation. And isn't it great that we don't worry about that in the US?

Hello?? What fucking planet are you from, asshole? Protest is stifled all the time in the US, so that the pretzeldent never has to see how many people really hate him.

By the way, I thought my hatred of Bush and the fundies had topped out. Turns out it continues to grow by the day.
