Kerry vs. Miller: I must be missing something.
I just read up on this and I don't see where we can say that Kerry did anything to Miller, if Miller says he was relaying what Kerry said in a private conversation.

I have seen Kerry speak on this issue many times and he did NOT say the election wasn't stolen, he just denied the details of the conversation.

I'm not defending Kerry or attacking Miller, I just don't see where we can make any judgment here at all. Since when are we supposed to trust a source who openly admits he's violating the trust of his source?

Even if Miller is telling the truth, he brought this on himself by blabbing.

Not that Kerry is above reproach, but I just don't see where he's at fault in this.

Seriously, if you can answer without ranting or slamming or starting a flame war, I would like to know what I am missing...

??? Input appreciated ???

3. I can see some fault with HOW Kerry's officeperson handled it.
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 06:38 PM by blm
I think Jenny Backus needed to underplay it, but she did so snarkily. which is not the way his office usually handles this stuff.

My shorthand version is that Miller overdramatized to make the story more compelling in its retelling, and Backus underplayed it and did so badly.

Jon Winer's interview with Robert Parry on election fraud is much more informative and full of great signs for the issue of machine fraud itself.

Here's a post I made about the Parry article which too manty overlooked the great news in it:

Please read carefully what Jonathan Winer said to Robert Parry in his article. Winer and Parry go WAY back when Parry was a noted investigative reporter and Winer was working as Kerry's righthand man investigating IranContra and BCCI.

Kerry Suspects Election 2004 Was Stolen
By Robert Parry
November 6, 2005

Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate in 2004, has told acquaintances over the past year that he suspects that the election was stolen, but that he didn’t challenge the official results because he lacked hard proof and anticipated a firestorm of criticism if he pressed the point.

“Kerry heard all the disquieting stories” about voting irregularities in Ohio and other states, said Jonathan Winer, a longtime Kerry adviser and a former deputy assistant secretary of state. “But he didn’t have the evidence to do more.”

The Massachusetts senator conceded to George W. Bush on Nov. 3, 2004, the day after the election when it became clear that the uncounted votes in the swing state of Ohio were insufficient to erase Bush’s narrow lead.

Winer, who is now a private attorney with a specialty in information security, said it’s conceivable that electronic balloting was hacked in Election 2004 but that – without a credible witness confessing – there is little hope to prove it.

“There are systems for one-time use that erase themselves afterwards,” Winer said. “You’d have to have a confession and anyone who would confess would look psychotic.”

Parry says that Winer is now specializing in information security. The guy who worked side by side with Kerry to uncover IranContra and BCCI is AWARE of the machine fraud.

He knows.

This bodes well for 2006 and 2008 because THEY KNOW. They also know it needs to be dealt with BEFORE an election because the machines that would be rigged are also set up for one time use and then erased.

I am more convinced than ever that the machine fraud is being worked on.
I also think it's possible that Kerry may have said too much to Miller, as they are likely not anxious to let BushInc know how much they do know. Heck, Walt Starr may have been the right one here.

7. and some to fly off the handle at the slightest provocation
whether real or perceived. I can't count the number of threads on DU I've seen attacking this or that democrat for some out of context quote or summary in the press or in the blogosphere. Seems to happen more often on the weekends, IMHO.
