Maureen Dowd interviewed on "Fresh Air" today (Talked about Judy!)
She talks and gives her views about Judy Miller and her bogus excuses about the WMD's and role in building the "Echo Chamber" at the WH and the NYT. She also talks about *, and his "Office Wives" (Condi and Harriet).

Also, she talks about her new book, which she tells how disappointed she is about how the "Feminist Movement" turned out (how the 20 Something's are regressing to become Barbie Dolls), I think that's only part of the book though.

If you like Maureen Dowd at all, you'll love this interview.

Maureen Dowd: 'Are Men Necessary?'

by Terry Gross

Fresh Air from WHYY, November 9, 2005 · In today's sexual politics, are women equal -- and are men even needed? That's the question New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd asks in her new book, Are Men Necessary? When Sexes Collide.

Her caustic wit and commentary has brought Dowd both praise and criticism since she became a regular columnist for the Times in 1995. While her critics often pan her writing as superficial, Dowd's fans cite her analysis of power politics and social trends.

For Dowd, Are Men Necessary? represents a new twist on that formula, as she takes stock of the state of the sexes, 40 years after the dual events of women's liberation and the sexual revolution of the 1960s.

The book also includes something that much of Dowd's other writing has lacked: details about her own life and personal views. In discussing the roles women and men play in relating to one another, the Washington-based columnist with a reputation for being intent on keeping her private life out of the public eye yields details about her own life that have usually been left out of consideration.

...her website link: <http://www.stephaniemiller.com/>

Not really into Imus either, him and Larry King kind of creep me out.

9. Just added her iPod feed to my "Doppler" list
(Doppler is a PC "iPod" program, for those of us who hate iPods.)

Any clue to what day and/or hour Dowd was on?

And, Hey Swamp Rat, how it goin'? You had a chance to go down to N.O. yet?

Still in Memphis?

11. 8 minutes and 30 seconds from the end of the 1st hour.
:)

Yes... I am still in shock about what has happened to my city and home.... the rest of the nation has moved on, but we are still in the same postion as 2 months ago. Though some parts of the city are coming back to life, it remains the largest ghost town in US history, and the only one that smells like dead people and animals for miles and miles. I cannot return to live (I went to start the clean up) because I need a new roof and some of the sheetrock gutted. So, in Memphis I must remain until at least December. Only then will I have a place to sleep in NO while I begin reconstruction on my home.

14. Thanks. Yeah it really suck what our Government is NOT doing to help NO
Be careful when you go back, make sure you wear some sort of mask over you nose and mouth, you do NOT want to get any of that Mold or Mildew in your lungs, you'll be sick for months. Fungal lung infections are very hard to get rid of.

Good luck.

15. Too late.
I've already been there, and 3 weeks later I am sitting here with my lungs on fire. I wore a mask part of the time, but I didn't have one available the whole time. If I had insurance I'd go see a doctor, but since I can't, I'm hoping it will go away in a couple more weeks... I'll survive. :)

8. I love MoDo and I think she's right about younger women.
The women's movement has taken a step backward--maybe several.

I blame the media. Does she?

12. Yes, the media and basic materialism and greed.
MoDo is So good, I often wish I could give her a big hug, especially at times like when she hears about things like the Tina Fay skit on SNL.
