Clooney's two movies
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 11:19 AM by garybeck
I saw "Good Night and Good Luck" last night. I thought it was pretty good. It basically made its point - that a few gutsy people in the media can change the world if they want to stand up for what is right.

But what stuck in my mind even more was a preview of Clooney's coming movie Syriana. Now this looks VERY interesting. While Good Night had some relevance to today's world, Syriana seems to be much more of a direct play on current events, mixing fact and fiction, commenting on the events that we are all watching unfold today.

I think this movie could be very powerful and it could help remind people of what the Bush regime is up to, as Rove attempts to revatilize the party. I think it's obvious that the movie is an attack on the administration.

I had never heard of it until I saw the preview. I can't wait until it comes out!

looks like it's coming out 11/23

Plot Summary for
Syriana (2005)

From writer/director Stephen Gaghan, winner of the Best Screenplay Academy Award for Traffic, comes Syriana, a political thriller that unfolds against the intrigue of the global oil industry. From the players brokering back-room deals in Washington to the men toiling in the oil fields of the Persian Gulf, the film's multiple storylines weave together to illuminate the human consequences of the fierce pursuit of wealth and power.

6. Thanks..
Stephen Gaghan wrote Traffic, too, which I thought was very nicely done.

And Chris Cooper is in it whom I like in the movies..sounds like another really timely film for our Country.

5. I'm gonna go see it for Kanye's music
Had never heard of him until he called Bush a racist, now I'm glad he did because his music is great.
