What Senate seats can we honestly take in 2006? |
|
In my view Santorum is good as gone(I know I know dont count your chickens)and Dewine is very beatable by Brown or Hackett. Isnt Bernie Sanders running for Senator too?

20. People are pretty fed up here |
|
in Missouri. Howard Dean has us on the activist list so there will be pretty heavy dem activity here next year. We really need to get rid of our nazi house rep graves, he has his head so far up delay's ass he stinks.

Pa is our best bet for a pick up |

of an incumbent GOP Senator, but we also have a good shot at DeWine in Ohio and Talent in Missouri.

Also, Chafee is in danger in RI, I think.

In danger of losing to a republican or a Democrat. If it's a republican that I am rooting for Chafee we may be able to use him.

There will be a primary between two democrats (Whitehouse, ex AG, and Browm, SoS (I think)).
Both have a chance to win against Chafee.

3. Like you said, Santorum most likely |
|
I just can't see Santorum turning that around...
Missouri's seat. Jim Talent could be on shaky ground depending on who runs against him. This is the seat Carnahan defeated Ashcroft for, even though he died before election day.
I think Conrad Burns in Montana and Lincoln Chaffee in Rhode Island are also vulnerable.

14. I hope Chafee's vulnerable |
|
But the Chafee name does carry a lot of weight in RI. His father held this seat before him. Even though he's one of the more moderate rethugs, he's still a rethug. So unless he has any plans to change parties, I would love to see him outta there. Still, considering BushCo's penchant for revenge, I'll give him credit for one thing: it took balls for him to say publicly last year that he could not vote for * in the presidential election.

19. He's an actual Republican |

Not one of these coopted fundy neocons.
But he's still a republican. He should switch parties or get out of the way.

4. Yes, Bernie's running for Jim Jeffords' seat |
|
Although Jeffords switched to independent, and caucuses with the Dems, Sanders is much more liberal. So it'll be a good switch, even though it won't add to the numbers under the Dem caucus.
Sanders is very popular in VT, so the rethugs have called in John O'Neill and his cronies to start a swift-boat-like attack on him.

15. Unless he retires, the seat is safe |
|
There is speculation he'll stand down. If that happens Rep. Gene Taylor might be able to pull off a win.

16. Lott has been very coy about whether he will run again |
|
If he doesn't I think there is a chance for a dem to win, maybe former Att General Mike Moore. I don't believe Taylor could win a statewide race; too many neanderthals in North Mississippi and I like the seniority he has built up in the House.
If LOTT runs, he wins, if not I think its wide open.

Is almost a lock on his seat. The problem is the Dems running. Whitehouse has too much baggage and no one knows Brown.
I'm going to work hard for whoever gets the nominations.
I always thought Chafee wasn't too bad until he voted for that assinine bankruptcy bill.
While he might be good on abortion, civil rights, gay rights, better on taxes than other repugs, and the environment, he's still a tool of the banking industry. And he thinks the patriot act is a good thing.
I'm hoping he and laffey slug it out real hard in the primaries and the dems don't. I prefer Brown but my reality meter says whitehouse.
