things. i watched the rerun of jon stewart today. there was a corddrey interview with az rep flake. i watched last night and it showed flake saying cut in govt, flake stated naming of dept. get rid of dept of energy dept of edu and a handful of other dept.
to me that was a big secret that got out in repug agenda and intention
today i am watching the rerun and they had flake but skipped that whole part of interview. do they normally edit their rerun shows for the next day
my mouth is hanging open. wtf

4. If the theory of intelligent design caught on |
|
in the US Dept. of Education, would you still want to fund it?
The reality is that most federal funds are spent in the state in which they were raised. Or more exactly, most states receive about as much federal spending as they pay in federal taxes.
Why let the representative from other states choose how to spend that money?
I'm not necessarily a fan of Rethug 'Small' Government, I'm more a fan of decentralized 'local' responsive government. I personally don't want the rep from Kansas having any say on how my tax money is spent.
States have more options for raising revenue than the Federal government anyway - they can tax wealth, er property.
Of course to be truly beneficial to 'the people' they should avoid taxing property that is the result of work by the people - they should exempt buildings, cars, machines, and other man-made things.

6. I'd rather not put all my eggs in one basket. |
|
And I'd rather not depend on the States to always do the right thing. Hey, I'm a Texan!
Local government sometimes needs the resources of the Fed.

7. Exactly. One basket = Fed |
|
Many baskets = state and local government.
The resources of the Fed are, in fact, state resources.
It's a lot easier to relocate from Texas to another of the states than it is to relocate out of the country.

16. Sorry, many baskets = City, County, State & Federal Government. |

I'm not a Dixiecrat States Rights advocate. The only ones surviving turned Republican long ago.
Besides, aren't local governments the ones who pass those horrible Smoking Bans?

9. I love Jon however..... |
|
One of the few things that bug me about Jon is he gives more time for repugs than dems on his show. Take last week, for Obama he spent the normal time he gives most guest, but for McCain he gave an extra segment. The same thing he did for Santorum.

11. I beg to differ on Santorum. |
|
The next day he even apologized for how week it was. As for as McCain, it was no love fest nor ass kicking. All of this of course is in the eye of the beholder.

Just a feeling no proof. I love when oreilly said something like you add insult to injury. Then Jon come back with yea but just add the injury.
