Hey all Video editors! Lets have an impromptu Video Editing contest!
Open to both Amateur and Pro video editors, if you have a digital video camera, you should have some sort of video editing program.

Here's the idea. I'm currently capturing video from today long-ass, KKKarl Rove written speech * gave today, and if you go through the transcript, available at the WH website or at this link: <http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1918983>, you'll see with all the BS tough talk, and * inability to use the appropriate inflection, and long, poorly placed pauses, you can make * say just about anything through the magic of video editing.

The dead silences don't hurt either.

An example of what I'm talking about can be viewed at this link: Click Here

Once you watch the funny edit from the 2002 Sate of the Union speech at the link above, you'll understand the premise. Let's see what kind of crazy stuff we can make him say. It's just like they do at Fox "news" and for the WH "News releases."

Nothing is set in stone, I'm ready to hear ideas, but my idea was for a 60 second edit, and possibly a 30 second and maybe a long form edit, for anyone who just gets on a roll and needs 2 to 5 minutes (but it would really need to be good for folks to stick with a 5 minute edit).

So if you have a video capture card in you computer, capture the video from today's speech, they'll probably repeat it 2 or 3 more times tonight and even more this weekend on CSPAN and CSPAN2, at least that's what they usually do. Don't forget to capture some of the pre-speech video, you'll need it as cut aways for editing.

2. Well it would have been fun, but I just checked the CSPAN schedule,
because I've been waiting for them to replay the speech again, but I don't see it on the schedule, at least not before 10pm Sunday, AND, when I went back to check to see how my video capture turned out, it wasn't there.

I've been having trouble with software bugs ever since my hard drive crashed last year, and I guess I just found another one. I had to spend all day fixing my Video Capture program, so now I too have to wait and hope that CSPAN replays it again too.

Bummer. :evilfrown:
