Anyone think that when we retake the house/senate in '06....
... we'll never have a CHANCE to impeach Chimp/Darth??

I mean, let's face it, the Junta will do ANYTHING to prevent that from happening.... so I have this 'worst case' scenario...

- sometime before the '06 elections, Darth will have another 'incident' that will set him up to be able to resign for 'medical reasons'. If the polls look REALLY BAD and they know that it's gonna be a loss of house/senate control.. Darth steps down..

- Chimp installs the 'heir apparent' to the VP's slot, if they manage to hold to either house, then they're being groomed for '08. The VP will manage to 'distance' himself from Chimp and even start to disagree with policies, and in somecases publicly show they're 'changing the policies' of the Junta.

- should they manage not to retain both houses, the new house/senate don't take office till Jan '07 yes? You'll see Chimp have his own 'medical problems' and leave office, leaving the 'heir apparant' in the job and his new VP apointee...

WE HAVE NO ONE LEFT TO IMPEACH! You can bet that the 'heir apparant' will be someone so far removed from the dirty dealing and lies of Iraq that we can't connect them in any form (sorry Congasleeza) so that all we can do is try to overturn legislatively the disasters of the previous 6 years...

then the real battle for humanity begins in '08

1. I don't know
I think that Chimpy's handlers got more than they bargained for. I don't think anyone can willingly pry his paws away from the shiny object that is the US Presidency. I think he'd go against his entire party and every advisor if they tried to suggest he step down for the good of the party.

2. "WE" Might not have to
If we get the Senate and the House in 06, what's left of the gop in those bodies might be the driving force for impeachment to prevent a repeat of 06 happening in 08.
