Of course, it may be forever before Wolf comes forward with these numbers, but it sounds like the Veteran's Day counteroffensive may have been counterproductive. Wolf says these polls are the lowest ever.

On EDIT: OKAY, here are the numbers: Bill Schneider says it's Bush's lowest number yet in the CNN/USAToday/Gallup poll -- 37% approve, 60% disapprove.

There's an even split over whether he's a strong or weak President: 49/49. The only "bright" spot is he's holding on to his Republican base (80% approval), but he's lost 2/3 of Independents, half of whom voted for him in '04.

There was also something about, I THINK, trusting Clinton more than Bush, and some poll numbers. Did anyone catch this question, and the numbers?

EDIT again: Wolf now saying that 55% polled now say that Bush does not share their values.

6. This morning on NPR
they reported a 37% approval rating. Once I get to work, it's AAR, but they haven't mentioned anything that I've heard (they might have; sometimes I have to work! :) )

17. republican base (80% approval)?
That's disturbing. I use to think the issue was not with party affiliation itself, good people could be in that party too. Then I watch republicans on this congress vote blindly with bush and think it;s their politicians that are corrupt.

But if 80% of republicans over all support him NOW (or even in 04 election) then there is something corrupt about them as well. Perhaps they aren't looking closely at anything. Shame on them. Perhaps they see and approve. They are sick.

Loyalty to the country, to some higher standard should come before party affiliation. I want them all interred in a camp for the politically insane.
