would someone explain how this Woodward thing figures into the leak scandal?

1. Seems to me that the "President's" National Security Adviser or

someone else at the White House either lied to Bush or Bush lied to us and that person probably lied to the FBI or the Grand Jury or both. The rest is spin and smokescreen. Doesn't affect Scooter's case an iota. RawStory says it was Hadley, which if true, means his security clearance should be revoked, which would be weird for a National Security Adviser, but this is BushWorld.

3. Well, as far as I can tell,

He's been on the talk shows since the leak broke stating that it was no big deal; just a round of gossip blown out of proportion, without telling anyone he had been the first reporter leaked to. Hypocritical at best--doing commentary on a story he was part of, without disclosing the fact. Also, he deliberately tried to hide any involvement; didn't tell his own editor and told WP reporter W. Pincus, who Woodward says he told about his involvement (Pincus denies this) that he didn't want to be mentioned because he might be subpoenaed (sp?). Sort of obstruction-of-justice like. Kind of blows his Watergate rep right out of the water. Did that help?

4. Yes, you are all helping me get the picture

I've read the news articles and seen it on tv but wasn't quite able to connect the dots. I've personally never liked the guy. I actually "liked" him via his work and books until I saw him. Then there was something about him I just didn't trust.

Libby's lawyer will think this will help his case, (because he still is confused about the charges it appears) so he'll subpoena Woodward to get the three sources he had....
