Iraq minister on torture: 'Nobody was beheaded'
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 12:21 PM by spanone
This is the actual CNN headline on their webpage. I'd laugh out loud if it didn't make me cry.

I would venture a guess, that beheading goes beyond torture. ??

Love the headline.

~snip~ Iraq's interior minister is defending a government facility that was found to be holding dozens of prisoners, including some showing signs of torture, saying it held "the most criminal terrorists." "Nobody was beheaded or killed," a defiant Bayan Jabr told a news conference today, saying that only seven of 170 detainees showed marks of torture. ~snip~

3. I can truly see the American influence on the Iraqis.
We've taught them well. We are now the feared ones.

9. No joke: that's pretty much EXACTLY what was said!

From the paragraph with this pic:
SNIP
The Guard soldiers disarmed the Iraqi policemen
and gave first aid to the detainees.
The Oregon guardsmen were later ordered to stand down,
handing the prisoners back over to the Iraqi officials.

5. On the whole beheading thing
I'm not prone to conspiracy thoughts, but I've always been a little suspicious of the beheading that occured about them time Abu Ghraib hit the headlines. Everytime someone justifies something in Iraq with, "at least we're not beheading people" that nagging doubt comes back about the Berg beheading.

7. nothing to see here
nobody killed. Nobody beheaded. See? No torture. And only seven of 170, thats what, 4% or so. So four percent had marks of torture; it's all okay if we are under 10 percent. Sick. Sick. Sick.
