A freeze warning on the Mississippi Gulf Coast tonight and |
|
many of our fellow Americans are living in tents, displaced from hurricane Katrina. We spent a billion in Iraq this week?

3. Thats the bad news. The good news is it'll keep the mosquitos |
|
away.
Also, there are still thousands living in tents in Louis Armstrong Park across Rampart Street from the Quarter in New Orleans. It'll be cold there tonight, too.

6. Was there two weekends ago |

Its so freaking eerie....soldiers walking around the Quarter, all very friendly and talkative. You can tell who rode out the storm and stayed because they have a faraway look in their eyes and they immediately start telling you the story, like some kinda catharsis.
Uptown looks pretty good, and then go over the HighRise, and your mind simply goes blank....you drive for miles and miles and miles and there is nothing but abandoned stores, car dealerships, doctors offices, huge apartment complexes, subdivisions, all brown and ripped up and cars jangled together.
It made me cry. I love that town

babs was so right, I see many of those people every day and if I had the eyes and the brains of a bush I'd say they are doing alright as well.

Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 04:49 PM by Rowdyboy
Where will he sit and drink his mint juleps? How will he stay warm and cozy? This is tragic :sarcasm:
The depths of scummery among this bunch is unbelievable. And they don't even care.

|
I mean, 'ole Trent needs that new house with it's new porch...afterall, if he doesn't get this, where the heck is he going to entertain all those White Pointy Hats and the Council of Conservative Citizens at his next fundraiser?
As a side point, I love Mint Julep's *sigh*
