Cultural revolution in Iran?
Checking last developments in Iran, I find something terribly familiar. Yes, Cultural Revolution in China started in 1966, about a year after the American troops entered Vietnam!
What happened in the 1960-ies is that Mao had figured out that US are exporting revolution to the region, so he waged a revolution to counter it. Apparently, now history repeats itself, Ahmadinejad wages a new wave of Khomeinist revolution to clash with the neoconservative one.
Meanwhile, clueless Russian and European diplomats go on with their pathetic attempts to reconcile irreconcilable and find a diplomatic solution for the problem. No, I am really sorry, but if this logic is right, this is not going to work. Nothing short of complete ideological burnout of neocons will resolve the Iraqi-Iranian crisis.
