13. And she got booed on the floor of the House
Just played the video on CNN. Lots of angry howls as she said the word "coward." Wolfie said it looked more like the British Parliament than the US Congress.

6. Fanatic Extremist.
BushBot.

Her logic is: because some soldiers have died, some undefined thing should happen, and therefore, other soldiers should die to make that undefined thing happen.

She's from Ohio, right? Isn't it possible that she got her seat from some hanky-panky with the vote there?

8. Hastert was disgusting too
I don't know if the full text of his press release was ever posted today. I was pretty disgusted with this too and this came out last night.

"I am saddened by the comments made today by Rep. Murtha. It is clear that as Nancy Pelosi's top lieutenant on armed services, Rep. Murtha and Democratic leaders have adopted a policy of cut and run. They would prefer that the United States surrender to the terrorists who would harm innocent Americans. To add insult to injury, this is done while the President is on foreign soil.

"Four years ago, America as we knew it changed. The terrorists attacked our people and attacked our nation. Nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives. Families were destroyed, and our children lost their sense of peace. On that day, we learned that we no longer had a choice. Failure to act -- and act strongly -- left our nation vulnerable to Osama bin Laden and his band of terrorist followers.

"But now, Rep. Murtha and other Democrats want us to retreat. They want us to wave the white flag of surrender to the terrorists of the world. It is unfortunate that this is all politics all the time. We need to have a strong consistent policy that will protect our men and women who are fighting to protect us overseas. We must not cower like European nations who are now fighting terrorists on their soil.

"This is the highest insult to the brave men and women serving overseas. They have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our citizens, our way of life and our ideals of freedom and democracy. And they have done excellent work. In the four years since September 11th, the United States and our partners have disrupted at least 10 major terrorist attacks. Three of those attacks were planned on U.S. soil.

"I have known John Murtha to be a long-term veteran of this institution. He has stood up for our troops and has helped to provide them with the right equipment to do their job. We all saw the same pained faces among Americans when terrorists slammed into the Twin Towers. Did he see the faces the rest of America saw when terrorists plowed into the Pentagon or when the plane that was headed for a Washington target went down in Pennsylvania? I saw the faces that day, and, Mr. Murtha, that was no illusion."

12.  .
Geoff Davis: "Ayman Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's deputy, as well as Abu Musab Zarqawi, have made it quite clear in their internal propaganda that they cannot win unless they can drive the Americans out. And they know that they can't do that there, so they've brought the battlefield to the halls of Congress.

Davis is attempting to link Murtha and Democrats to al Quaeda!

20. These jackasses just keep repeating the same tired lies
It would be nice if Hastert would tell the truth for once:

"Four years ago, America as we knew it changed. The terrorists attacked our people and attacked our nation. Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with this attack, but we got entangled there under the false pretense that it did."

But nooooo! Over and over, with the Iraq/911 implication! What a pack of liars, they have absolutely no shame.

I dare say that ANY veteran who votes for her next go round just isn't paying attention. She insulted every person who ever wore the uniform---calling a man with two purple hearts a coward---she showed her yellow ass tonight.

23. My email to Congresswoman Schmidt
This is my first post here. I hope I did it right. I just wanted to be the next poster in line. This is an actual cut'n paste. I have to go somewhere to express my anger so it might as well be here. As for the fact that she is an elected official...I am unimpressed. Hope you all like it! :)

Dear Congresswoman Schmidt:

Thanks to P.B.S. FRONTLINE and 60 minutes, even my friends kid knows that Bush planned on going in to Iraq, before he was even elected. Indirectly calling Congressman Murtha a "Coward" is really low, even for an uninformed Republican as yourself. You should be completely ashamed of yourself, but having no conscience, as with all of your religious led, right wing crazy cohorts, I know that you slept well that night. Your apology, which was forced on you by the Republicans, is worthless. Chicken hawks such as yourself disgrace the 2050 troops who have died at Bush's whim. The fact that you are a freshman saying that about Murtha makes you even more of a wretched disgrace to the people whom you represent.

Wait until the mid-terms.

Sincerely,

Dave K------

which was NOT Murtha's resolution to the phony 'letter from a marine' who just happens to be a republican shill and there is a pic of him and her getting a ten commandment plaque of some sort http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5404548 a big picture and I am on dailup but well worth the wait! Looks like they could have been seperated at birth...both skanky looking! Of course that is MY opinion.
