I'm confused by Chuck Hagel |
|
I was thinking about this earlier and he's a confusing fellow. I have done some reading on him and from what I've read he was once going to be Bush's VP choice but the GOP officials wanted Cheney and they got him instead. And apprently Hagel is a twenty year something family friend of the Bush family and how he got elected is fishy too. He has close ties to ES&S machine's company (a cousin company to Diebold) and 80% of his votes was on these machine's. Apparently Nebraska hadn't had a republican senator until him. Yet he's been against Iraq since 2003. Do you think if Bush had Hagel as his vp they still would've gone with the Iraq PNAC plans or only because of Cheney are they doing the plans?

he has been critical or rather questioned things. but he has not done anything to show he is against it.
just recently he voted against the Levin Amendment.
he would be better than Bush and many other Republicans when it came to foreign policy. but he is a conservative overall.
he is intelligent unlike McCain so i'm sure Hagel's own Vietnam war experience is the reason he is more tolerant of differences when it comes to foreign policy and why he questions things himself also.
as for Bush's vp. i don't think he was ever in serious consideration. it's just something that may have been brought up. but Bush holds grudges and the fact that Hagel had endorsed McCain in the primary excluded any reason chance he would get at being picked.

VP pick. Where did you get this information? In 2000 Hagel endorsed, supported, and campaigned for McCain in the primaries. He was damn uncomfortable with the republican crap done in FLA. I remember him on television saying "just count the whole state over." I don't like him because of ES&S. But when I listen to him he sounds like a normal person with a brain rather than some of the knuckle draggers in his party.

Sorry. I just remember reading about it sometime ago. But thanks for telling about him with McCain. Do you know if he is a Bush family friend?

4. Not worth worrying about. Also even if Bush is a puppet, he is the Pres, |
|
and as such, is still responsible for what his puppet actions have wrought.
