11. I respectfully disagree. The one thing we CAN'T depend on is

the repugs policing their own shills. They will have Mean Jean baking cookies at a homeless shelter full of little children from New Orleans while draped in the flag like a toga. She will then be making weekly trips to Walter Reed to visit injured soldiers, donating a pint of blood or two, they will have her photo-shopped into saving people in the earthquakes and tsunami and finally she will appear and cry on cue talking about how those horrible "cut and run" liberals took her words out of context. Who are you going to believe your own lying eyes and ears or Mean Jean?

Come on folks, the repugs are the best around at re-writing history. She'll end up with a Congressional Medal of Freedom, a night in the Lincoln bedroom and re-election if we wait for the repugs to knock her down a peg or two for her hate-filled nonsense. That, my friends, is their own personal mother's milk.

Schmidt's performance last night was one of those landmark gaffs that upon viewing it you were aware that it was all over for her. I remember the night that Woody Hays slugged the kid from the opposing team. I had the same feeling.

Further, she barely won in the past election. She is already weak. And, there are some things that the Pubs will cover for. In this case, I think not.

But, if you want to rally the troops, it probably wouldn't be counter productive.

They are the masters at changing the discussion. Just don't want anyone to think the repugs or the neocons are in the least bit ashamed of her behavior. They LOVE this stuff - they LIVE for this stuff - and will find a way to use it to their advantage. Remember the Swift Boats? Before they will chance a loss of a seat to a dem they will have the Catholic Church canonize her and declare the day she made an ass of herself (and her party) a holy day.

I hope you are right. I truly do because that would mean that even the repugs and the people who vote for them actually have a moral compass. That they, too, would realize what a horrible representative she is but I'm not holding my breath. I can't see them suddenly slap themselves up beside the head and declare, "What the hell have we been doing to the country?"

We can never expect or rely on the repugs and their voters doing anything the least bit honorable.

16. I agree in general with assessment of the Republican behavior.

However, there are two differences about the Schmidt incident, (1)
her remarks were so callous that she was literally shouted down in public with her words being expunged from the record and (2) she was denigrating a true military hero. That's a dangerous thing to do. I recall what the swift boaters did to Kerry but there are differences there.

In any event, we are on the same side in wanting the BuschCo out of American politics.
