For crying out loud, he can't even dress himself?
November 16, 2005

KYOTO, Japan: US President George W. Bush on Wednesday learned how to pray like a Buddhist at a Zen temple and inquired about his socks as he was enlightened, a priest said.

Bush, opening a week-long visit to Asia, took off his shoes with his wife Laura and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi as they took a morning tour of Kinkakuji, the revered Temple of the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto.

Koizumi showed Bush, a devout Christian, how to bow in prayer before an idol of the Buddha, said Raitei Arima, the temple's head priest.

But the US president, clad in a suit ahead of a summit, also had other concerns.

"What was most interesting was that Bush said, 'I wonder if my socks have any holes.' And Laura said not to worry," the priest said.

1. Oh yeah, here he is again, thinking he can sound like "the common
man" when his comments are just an insult because we know better.

3. Fundies should see this as an afront to their religion
After all, true believers know that the ten commandments provide:

‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me’" (Exodus 20:1–3).

Praying to another is clearly in violation of the commandments. So, was he insulting Christians or mocking Buddists?

What an ass. :argh:

6. Okay - this is either just a frat boy jack off attempt to be funny
or he's so out of it he can't tell when his socks have holes in them. I think it's the former. The Ape always tries to crack jokes whenever he's in the presence of genuine people - it's his defense, one of them them anyway.

10. Aaarrgghhh!

What a rude and arrogant IMBECILE! Not a pinprick's worth of respect for anyone else, just make a STUPID joke out of a sacred religious tradition. Gee, kind of like mocking Karla Faye Tucker as she begged for her life, or joking about Weapons of Mass Destruction, or goofing around with a guitar while thousands die in abject horror...

Hey Bush, how about you forget your stupid socks and worry about the holes in your blackened heart, oil soaked soul and drug addled head?!?

ASSHOLE!
