He's a very powerful person that I, for one (and I bet I'm not the only one), don't know very much about.

What do we know about him? What's his 'story' anyway?

He's another one who's involved in nefarious things. I give Hastert a year at most before he's outed for what he's been involved in.

2. I remember reading a puff piece on him a few years ago...

I recall that he has two sons. At the time, one was a teenager, while the other was in his early twenties. I remember that the article mentioned more than once than the older son was a rabid fan of the altcountry music genre. i assumed that was an attempt to portray him as a hip, aware "new" republican.
Yes, they are both ELIGIBLE for enlistment in the military, but don't hold your breath.

And I HOPE Fatty Hastert doesn't have any children, because that means that there's some woman out there that's ACTUALLY had sex with him AND exchanged precious bodily fluids with him.

4. He's the rep in my sister's district --Kane County, IL

I think he was a high school wrestling coach.
But here's the juicy part -- rumor has it that he plans to retire and not run in '06. I have absolutely no legit source for this, other than my sister heard it from some local politico.

5. Hastert has two sons.

The youngest (Ethan) graduated from high school in 1997 and from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in either 2001 or 2002. He works in D.C., possibly at a lobbyist. The older son lives and works in the Chicago area and I believe he is married and may have children. Jean, Hastert's wife, retired from Yorkville Grade School about four years ago. Both she and Dennis taught in the Yorkville school district for the majority of their teaching careers. In fact, Hastert continues to be "on leave" from his former position as wrestling coach and history teacher at the high school and was ranked #1 in years of experience at the district. For many years, they owned a home between Yorkville and Oswego on the banks of the Fox River. They sold that home and moved into a newly built home outside of Plano, near Yorkville in 2002. Hastert and his wife were active members of the community and were liked and respected as well.
