John Murtha has a survey
http://www.house.gov/murtha/survey.shtml

Haven't seen this posted, there are very few votes so far. He wants to know what best summarizes our views on what to do in Iraq.

22. the way you're thinking of it, perhaps. Consider how it
might be implemented. Let's concentrate all those US soldiers on the borders of Iraq... say on the border with Syria and/or the border with Iran. Gosh, if somebody shoots, us, what's an army to do?

I don't doubt your intentions, and I don't doubt Murtha's intentions, I'm just thinking of how this move could be misinterpreted by neighboring countries or misused by the neocons...

NATO to help us on this. They could always put NATO troops on the borders of the countries that might give us hell.

91. They could ask NATO, but Kerry thinks it should be UN troops guarding
Iraq's borders. I think he's right.
UN troops to the border.
Our troops back to the bases, or by Murtha's plan to the periphery.
Then DIPLOMACY. Imagine that, a foreign policy, not just a militrist strategy....

...just dreaming....... ?

I'd want to answer B) or D).

No, D) isn't a popular choice, but it would allow us to actually accomplishes something in Iraq instead of just squandering blood and treasure with less than nothing in return.

51. always vote the extreme.
Then MAYBE you'll get the rational policy you want. But don't start off rational because no one reasons with the reasonable, because they can be talked out of anything.

The Republicans took the unreasonable stance. Democrats took the reasonable one. Everybody moved to the right to accommodate the unreasonable Republicans.

I want total pullout tomorrow, nationalization of all energy resources, and...what's an unreasonable position on healthcare? National health is reasonable.....what's extreme on that? Got one: total national health with all doctors and pharmacists and drug companies providing identical care to rich and poor no exceptions. Let them fight for the paid care for the rich.

31. What do we want? Redeployment to the periphery! When do we want it?
At the earliest practicable date!

Come on, let's all forget the peace movement and join the redeployment movement.

Peace is for pussies, and cutting-and-running is for Republicans who only know two ways to leave a battlefield-- dead or defeated.

We should redeploy to the periphery of Iraq as soon as practical to protect troop safety and give the Iraqis incentive to take charge sooner, not later.

I'm with Murtha on this.

the information the public is getting is tainted due the media conglomerates attempts to keep bush in power. The right choices never need to be asked from a largely uninformed public (though we can make a difference if everyone votes for the only two reasonable choices to this mess).

basically to prolong the war for as long as it takes and dumb asses sit and vote for it.

Don't you think if these guys were trained, they would of had more trained. They are not training hardly any. Ask them. It will take 1,000 years to get out of this mess if that. Dumb stupid people.....

http://www.house.gov/murtha/iraqsurvey.shtml

Congressman Murtha would like to know what you think about troop deployment in Iraq.  Please indicate which of the following best summarizes your view on what the United States should do in Iraq:

1) We should immediately remove all troops.

2) We should redeploy to the periphery of Iraq as soon as practical to protect troop safety and give the Iraqis incentive to take charge sooner, not later.

3) We should maintain current troop levels until Iraq builds an army to defend and stabilize their country, even if that takes years.

4) We should re-institute the national draft to increase troop levels to where we can seal the Iraqi borders and stop the passage of insurgents and insurgent-supply missions.

5) None of the above

for a new poll. You have to enter your name, etc. They also don't post the results right now. They must have realized they were getting freeped today.

Rep. Murtha said in a local newscast last night that the phone calls coming in to his home office have been supportive by an 8 to 1 margin!
