Is the 'christian' Right a Tool? (Regarding Christmas)
The 'christian' Right is rather infuriated with Liberals.

They think that we are waging a war against Christmas.

Something ain't right here.

Is there any particular reason as to why the 'christian' Right isn't hopping mad over Super-Stores, greedy CEOs, Crazy Capitalists, etc. and the FACT that every year they turn Christmas into one big donation bin for them to dig into after Christmas is done?

1. Can you say H.Y.P.O.C.R.I.S.Y?
It's the one thing the wingnuts are really, really good at.

2. The "War on Christmas" campaign is a big moneymaker for Christian
groups, just like progressive groups pump us for cash to fight for issues we believe in. To a small segment of the population, the "culture war" is a big deal, and the war on Christmas is one of the battles they fight.

they know we are not waging battle. but because they have created
the battle and repeat it over and over, their people will be convinced that the left doesnt want christmas and you will hear more and more. dont let them get away with it. dont let them paint us as anti christmas. i personally do not know a single democrat against christmas. i know there are some, as i am sure there are repugs that dont like christmas. but they want to create the message that the left is anti christmas.

we are not

4. The Christian Right has nothing to do with Jesus' teachings...
It's a terroristic political organization, led by fascists and supported by frightened, ignorant people.

5. Their idea of a battle
is that we say "Happy Holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas" when we're out in public. That's it. That's what they're so upset about when it comes to liberals. They'd rather that we offend non-Christians, I guess.

Of course, they're also mad about the rampant materialism, and how they can blame us for that, I don't know.

10. Xtians stole the pagan holiday and now they're bitching over it...
Unsurprising...

Xtian's are stupid fools... Christmas isn't even their holiday. The original festival of lights, bringing in of a tree and decorating it - that's all pagan.

Dumbass Xtian thieves stole the holiday, just like Easter, to fit in with their fairy tale religion and now the bigots are bitching.

Fuck them. Every year as I celebrate the festival of lights with trees and presents, I scoff at the nativity scenes and other fairy tale bigot bullshit around town... Fucking fools. There is no hell, but if only there were one so they could all rot there.

11. The irony is that celebrating Christmas was once banned in America...
By the puritans. It was considered a papist holiday.

12. This "Put Christ Back In Christmas" and "Battle for Christmas" is Bull
Since Christmas (and Thanksgiving and New Years) 1967 - I have been the Coast Guard OOD or the Red Cross Disaster Assistance Responder or the Hospital Volunteer - to provide the service while the Xtian service providers have the opportunity to be home with their families.

And I am getting ever more offended by Bill O'Reilly and Falwell and Robertson and Dobson. All they can do is build a following by building divisiveness.

14. Christmas used to be outlawed. Haven't these fools ever studied?
In fact, it was only 1836 when Alabama became the FIRST state to recognize it.

Never mind that Christ had nothing to do with exchanging plastic trinkets made in China. Christ was about GIVING. Giving freely. Giving what allows people to live and prosper.

In today's day and age, it's all about selfishness. And no amount of rethug spin is gonna change that. And the more people see such thuggery, the more they will see how antichristian they truly are...

16. They do this EVERY year.
Wait until we get into December -- they make up all kinds of crap we aren't saying. It seems like each year, they get louder about it.

It's all politics, imho.

20. Does that mean I don't have to give gifts this year?
They've figured us out, and we don't have to sing in choir, decorate, help feed at the food bank, prepare gift boxes for orphans. Shit, I thought we had them fooled.
