Fox News Won't Show Ad Opposing Alito
WASHINGTON - Fox News is refusing to air an ad critical of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, citing its lawyers' contention that the spot is factually incorrect.

A spokesman for the groups sponsoring the ad said the network's decision reflects the political right's effort to shield

The ad says that as an appellate court judge, Alito has "ruled to make it easier for corporations to discriminate ... even voted to approve strip search of a 10-year-old girl." Referring to a document Alito wrote in 1985 while seeking a job in the Reagan administration, it quotes him as saying that "the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion."

The groups backing the ad include the Alliance for Justice, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, People for The American Way and abortion rights organizations.

1. Faux knows info must be controlled to keep the sheeple sheep
I wouldn't watch a supposed news channel that restricts info to its viewers. Why not carry both ads?

2. Since when was Faux News concerned about truth?
Seems to me they would jump at anything they believe was propaganda. . .that's their entire news operation.

3. I don't think there should be any ads for judges
Ban them all and come see what I have to say for myself on my blog.

The Right Honorable Samuel A. Alito, Jr.
(the A stands for Awesome)

7. I Was Wondering The Same
Other than occasional comic relief, why would anyone with a real working braincell be bothered with watching that waste of electrons?

If anything, I'm starting to see a lot of Faux noise backlash out there. The other night I ran into an acquaintance who was an avid Faux viewer a couple years ago. Today, he's not only turned off on int, he's embarassed that he's ever watched it. "It felt good at first, but then you get tired of being so sleezy all the time"...that pretty much sums up the Faux viewer to me.

12. They Sure Don't Get It On Faux
Those watching Faux don't want their minds changed...if anything, they want a daily reinforcement of hatred and fear. It takes something in the real world that jars people away from the horseshit that not only Faux but all the corporate media outlets feed.

Many people found they weren't getting the full story and turned to other sources...and my hat's off to them for doing so.

Peace...

15. It would be cool if a group sent in a fake alito commercial to fox
Supporting him with incorrect info and see if they would agree to air it.

17. "...the spot is factually incorrect"
That they continued to air the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" ads even after they'd been debunked makes their current stance laughable, to say the least.

And if factual correctness were a standard the channel adheres to, there would be nothing broadcast but commercials between long stretches of a static screen showing the FoxNews logo--minus the "Fair & Balanced" tagline, of course.
