MUST READ: Incubator Redux: Top 40 Lies About Iraq
I often question the wisdom of hammering a single point -- in this case, the Niger-uranium lie -- over and over at the risk of being distracted from the bigger picture.

But not this time.

It may look as if we liberals are so desperate to get the goods on Bush, we're zeroing in on 16 measly little words that don't amount to a hill of beans.

But it's not measly 16 little words. It's not just one sentence, one point, "one little flaw."

The bogus Niger-uranium claim is only the first of myriad half-truths, quarter-truths, one-one-thousandths-of-a-truths, and outright damn lies.

And it's only representative of a much, much larger question of integrity and honesty within the Bush regime. Or lack thereof.

And that, my darlings, is "the bigger picture."

There's no danger in focusing on the Niger-uranium lie for the time being. In fact, it's a good idea -- again, for the time being. You see, we've got the Bushies chasing their tails. On the run. Running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Powell, Rice, Rummy, and all the rest are knocking themselves out with damage control on that "one little flaw."

And just when they think they've stuffed one demon back into Pandora's Box -- just when they're on the brink of total exhaustion -- we'll hit 'em with the next lie.

Whaddya mean, what do I mean, "the next lie"?

Well, there's that nonsense about Iraq being behind the September 11th attacks, and the manipulated intelligence about the aluminum tubes, and the fiction that Iraq could launch missiles on 45 minutes' notice, and the tons of sarin and nerve gas (that just don't have the kind of shelf-life BushCo wishes they did), and the imaginary Commando-Cody drone planes, and the outright lie that Saddam kicked U.N. inspectors out of Iraq, and of course, my favorites: that the invasion would be a "cakewalk," that the "war" was over on May 1st, and (drumroll, please!) the thrilling but completely fictional tale of "Saving Private Lynch."

Am I going too fast for anyone?

Okay, I guess it's about time I came up with my own list of Top Ten Lies About Iraq.

<snip>

1. Iraq and al Qaeda are in cahoots. Iraq was behind the September 11th attacks. Among the iron-clad proof is a meeting between 9-11 hijacker Mohammed Atta with Iraqi intelligence in Prague.

This is an excellent article for the research fanatics here at DU.

I have been watching this blog since it first began on another blog site. Doublethink writes some brilliant pieces, and really is worth placing her blog in your bookmarks. You won't regret reading, I read her on a daily basis.

2. Thanks NSMA
I checked out the link you included. Damn these assholes will stoop to any level, just to fill their agenda.

I can't wait for the elections next year, so we can all tell Bush* to not let the door hit his ass on the way out. :)

3. I believe there was also a recent article...
... which stated that our intelligence knew that he was driving from Florida to Virginia? at the time he was supposedly meeting with the Iraqi official in the Czech Republic.

Cheers.
