Scalia distorted the truth...
In his minor confrontation with Al Franken, he mentioned that the 2000 election was going to be decided by the Florida Supreme Court or the US Supreme Court. He asked if the US Supreme Court should have by-passed their decision. But, he was wrong in his declarations.

The Florida Supreme Court was not going to decide the election. They were going to let the voters of Florida decide the election. They told the officials to count the votes - all the votes. But Bush, Cheney, and Baker did not wish to recount the vote so they asked for Scalia and their boys on the Supreme Court. Scalia was disingenuous at best.

6. Hear, Hear
"Treason" is not a word to be used lightly, as a catch-all epithet. Scalia, though, qualifies. Read Bugliosi's book on the 2000 election if you need convincing. This man is a genuine menace to the republic. If the Dems were a *real* opposition party, they'd have made the impeachment of the five Justices responsible for this coup a basic part of their platform...

3. big tony "always right" scalia
I can't stand to even look at a picture of this arrogant, pompous,
be-robed sumbitch. Un-American doesn't begin to describe his
actions and career.

4. Why is he "always right"? He is revisionist! He's full of it. How does
that make him right in any way? I don't understand.

He's on the Supreme court and he is being political and partisan and revisionist.

Right does not come into it!

5. Crooks lie all the time.
Scalia has selective memory, just like Reagan did. Bush sued Gore over the election, before the outcome was known! Baker said his client would suffer 'grievous harm' if the recount wasn't stopped! Well no shit! Scalia and crew pushed for the time table to be unalterable so that the outcome would be known (despite a recount) and they could deliver a decision in Bakers favor.

Totally unethical, immoral and criminal. I wouldn't be this harsh if some of them would have recused themselves, but they didn't so fuck'em.
