When will the Christian Right realize they have been duped by Bushco? |
|
Unfortunately, I don't think they ever will. They may acknowledge it, quietly, but if Bush were to run for a third term they would line up like zombies to kiss his ass.

Since we know they have no tolerance for others, it truly depends on how much they hate all of us...

My thinking is that I don't want them switching to someone else. I'd rather them to stay closely associated with the * administration as it continues to unravel.

7. Technically speaking ... |
|
... there is no such thing as 'the Christian right'. The people who call themselves such, yet continue to support an administration that promotes torture, the gutting of social programs for the poor, and who put the Almighty Buck above the Almighty God, ARE NOT CHRISTIANS in any way, shape or form.

that discriminates against gays and was implemented into the texas state constitution a couple weeks ago, all do to christian right caolition and religion becoming law. so i will have to disagree iwth you on this. i do see religious law winning at in the moment. and i am sure the pendulum will swing back the other way, better sooner than later. i just dont see it happening today

29. I was thinking the same thing |
|
I don't think they care one iota whether or not he's a true Christian as long as he continues to do their bidding by pushing anti-gay laws and appointing anti-choice people to the judiciary. All other issues seem to be irrelevant to them. I don't even think they'd care that the RNC refers to them as "whackos" as long as they stick to the agenda.

12. Maybe when they realize they've been duped by their own religious leaders! |
|
These religious fundamentalists are truly the sheeple among sheeple. Every Evangelical leader I have seen is living quite well off the money of their congregation, so it is to their direct advantage to make these people loyal followers.
I have many friends in marketing/advertising, and they tell me that this fundamentalist group is their dream demographic. If presented in the "right" way, you can sell these people anything.

|
And they like it that way. I believe they know that. I realized that for sure with the whole Miers ordeal and Dobson. The republicans use the fundies for votes and to stay in power. If they ever get rid of Roe V Wade or ban gay marriage for sure all over the country they know they (the republicans) will lose any potential voters in the future. They do enough to keep the fundie base at bay. They believe that this new judge is for them even though Bush is nothing more than a corporate whore.

|
Edited on Sat Nov-26-05 02:55 PM by Marr
He said the Harriet Myers nomination was, for much of the right-wing, the first time they'd ever been on the 'other side of that (Bush Admin.) arrogance', and they didn't like it. He may have been speaking more of the Federalist Society sorts, but I think it applies to the religious right as well.
Anyway, Bush is already losing alot of support from his fundamentalist base, I suspect. He's hanging on by the thinnest wedge of true-believers.
