4. I always had the faint suspicion

that when they cast that wide net and picked up every other Islamist they just may have accidentally picked up the culprit. However, this group is made up of bumblers....doubtful they even know.

8. I've thought about them lately, when

I was reading the list of stupid things he said. It wasn't something on the list but it was one of the stupidest things ever, very strange.

It was so crazy that I put down the work I was doing to walk over to the TV and see if it was a replay of a Saturday Night Live Skit with an actor that sounded just like bush.

But it was real, it was bush, it was live. He was giving a talk to some group about a new program. This was in the midst of the anthrax scare. The new program was one that would have American kids become pen pals with kids from Islamic nations. Then they would understand each other better, a nice gesture of peace.

Well, OK, that would be nice in theory. But this was the middle of the anthrax scare when we're supposed to suspect envelopes...and now we invite them from overseas coming to our kids? Because terrorists would never think of pretending they were a kid by mail?

I kept shaking my head. Now I don't know how it would have been worked out, if kids would be screened. if agencies would check the mail soon. Maybe that was the plan they'd share later, but even then was this the time for an influx of mail from "evil doer" nations.

I thought they were either insane (OK, obvious) or they knew the anthrax wasn't from our "enemies"

I still shake my head when I think of it. Little more was heard, none official. A couple of commentators had caught it and mocked it, but it was never widely shown or talked about. It sure wasn't implemented.

I know more news people saw it, I think it was not talked about to not embarrass him, the climate was different then.

Did anyone else see that? Way too strange.

but why should the people in power care about them. They are mostly minorities and they usually vote Democratic.
