Heres one that says it all about repuke thinking.
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and was very much in favor of the redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the addition of more government welfare programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.

He responded by asking how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends
because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, "How is you friend Audrey doing?" She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus, college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too
hung over."

Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA! and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree! . She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

With this kind of thinking now wonder they can't see whats going on.

2. Heres my reply lol.
BTW, that is commie rhetoric not democratic. Leave it to the repubs to think thats whats going on. Heres what repubs want. Suzy has a 4.0 grade average. Ginny has a 1.0 grade average. Suzy comes from a low income family, Ginny comes from a family of old money. So the school takes Suzy's 4.0 grade average and gives Ginny 3.0 of suzy's grade. After all Ginny comes from a hard working family that inherited their wealth from great great grand daddy. This is republican thinking at its very best.

3. I've seen this exact same drivel before
Repuke morans just keep copying the same vomit and sending it out. I'm sure some of them would like to come up with an original thought some time, it's just that none of them has thought of doing it.

Why are they always calling themselves 'staunch'? Have you ever heard of a staunch Democrat? Maybe that's what I am.

4. Typical Republican Bullshit
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 05:17 AM by BuffyTheFundieSlayer
Oooh, let's use a little allegory, only substitute "lazy underperforming student" for "lazy poor person". After all, we know that the only reason a person is poor or lower-middle-class is sheer laziness. :eyes: It also assumes that all rich people have "earned" their wealth.

Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 05:22 AM by mrcheerful
is these idiots actually believe that the rich worked hard for their riches. They can't grasp the ideal that most of the rich inherited the wealth and haven't worked a day in their lives.

10. Yeah, Paris Hilton works really hard (rolling eyes)
And I think on some level they do realize that, which is why they fight so hard to have the inheritance tax eliminated. They want generation after generation of a-holes to live off their predecessors wealth while never working a day.

22. "lazy poor person". ...
Let's just say it for them outright. I think "lazy BLACK person" is what most repubs are really saying. They can barely, just barely, manage to keep the racism indicative to their point of view hidden and under the surface. If you listen at all to their favorite spokespersons for any length of time you can hear it slip out once in a while like a belch, sometimes the pressure builds and boom! out it comes. Rush and Bennett are the first to come to mind but it doesn't end with them by a long shot.

24. Of course, because we know only *black* people are on welfare,
and live in public housing, and are homeless, etc. :eyes:

Repubs are so clueless due to their blind stereotyping ignorance that they'd screw over the country rather than lift a finger to help it.

6. Someone who owns stock or a business or manages a business
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 05:30 AM by applegrove
is not doing all the work - they are simply delegating. What about the State Department that investigates & regulates intellectual property rights at home and around the world? Who pays for the property law enfrocement, the stock exchange regulators etc.

How long will Repukes drink the juice?

8. Good to hear somebody call it out.
When I try to argue with conservatives they always come back with this crap, about how we want to give their money away for free, how government should be small. They are always arguing with these straw men, and its so detached from reality they can't even grasp the fact that Bush has made government bigger, more intrusive, and more corrupt than ever before, and spent more doing it than ever before, which guess what...will eventually have to come out of taxpayers pockets.

Is "Audrey" really "dubya"? But seriously, do rethugs know how to make a good analogy? Every so often I see these pathetic examples, and they NEVER work. I mean who comes up with this shit?

12. in reality, audrey's dad buys the school a swimming pool. audrey gets 3.0
the story-teller gets to keep her 4.0.

so there's grade inflation, big deal. the professors whine, but nobody else cares.

bad analogy.

also, obviously, ignores that taxes have to come from somewhere, and that it's less of a burden on the rich.

also ignores that the rich usually get their riches at the expense of, and/or with the assistance of, the poor.

14. Republican Party Motto, "I Got Mine, Up Yours."
This fairy tale is BS. The story of the 'hard worker' ethic will not be found in GOP. But it does make for a good funny.

15. In the real world
the college gave Audrey a "gentleman's C" because of her rich and powerful father. Allowing Audrey to party all she wanted without lifting a finger to study. When Audrey and the daughter graduated from college, Audrey went on to a powerful position in her father's company making well over $70,000 a year while rarely showing up to work. While the daughter got a $20,000 a year job working 12 hour days, six days a week as a programmer for Microsoft. When the daughter complained to her republican father, he explained, "Those who've got it, keep it. Those who don't got it, work their butts off for a pittance."

I wonder if Ken Lay tells this story while he is lounging around in his multi-million dollar mansion paid for by the money he did "hard work" for?

18. the ant and the grasshopper...remember that nonsense?
The repukes logic is true, IF all the details were true to begin with. The problem is that the idealistic daughter of a rich repuke cannot argue with anyone, as her status fortifies the richman argument. If the kid was poor, and arguing the left view with a rich man, she would say 'the advantages for your side are built in the system, so we should counter the disadvantages we poor suffer by either affirmitive action, which btw the rich have always used for themselves {the children of alumni get into the ivy leagues 500 percent more then children of non alumni) or subsidised tuition and living costs etc, don't you agree?'
Jim Lees was an ex miner, marxist student at cambridge during the 1930's, when the upper class of the colleges were riddled with communists, including the famous soviet spys Philby, Mclean and Burgess etc...Burgess was a friend of Lees, and he learned alot about the injustice of class system from his lower class friendships, which many of the rich kids pursued. Lees was older then Burgess, and once told him "You will get a first because your energies are not exhausted by life, because of the class prejudice of the examiners and because you got here easily and aren't frightened by it all. I shall do ten times as much work and get a second"
the problem is republicans/rightwinger CHOOSE to be dense about plain truths, and get away with it because, what can anyone say?

19. So, I guess this means...
-It's your fault your house burned down, no Fire service for you!

-You should have protected yourself from the drug dealer with an atuomatic(and if you did have a gun or whatever, you needed to buy more bullets), no cops for you!

-Since the CEO makes 70mil and you make 70k, you're lazy. No tax cut for you!

-Americans are lazy and good for nothing, becuase their jobs are being taken away.

-NBA players work harder than teachers and doctors, and more importaint too!

-Health insurance for only the healthy!

-Pensions for only the millionaries!

-Schools for only those who can afford them!

-Pay for your own roads!

-Bake sales for Military!

-Jesus worked a low-wage job, he was a bum!

Use these lines, sit back, and watch the heads explode...

21. Right. And the middle class or poor person has to work 40 hours per week
in addition to taking the full course load. I did my pre-med with a spoiled rich kid, obviously Republican type kid...third generation surgeon. I worked full-time as an RN and we pulled the same 4.0 GPA in classes except he flew home to Mommy and Daddy's home every weekend and they paid for all his classroom, room and board expenses. Tell me again about fairness.

23. Leaving out many facts here. Assistance-strings that repuke provided to
get the numbnuts into the university in the first place for starters. Any time an opportunity for sharing the wealth comes up in a repuke conversation, isn't it funny how they always offer to share wealth (grades, wages, benefits, etc)from the least of us. Just cut your piece a little smaller. "Welcome to the Republican Party." Fuck that! The sounds of that gives me the shivers, like an invitation from the devil himself.
