BRAD BLOG: Confusion, Misreporting on Reports of CA Diebold 'Hack' Test!
Confusion, Misreporting Surround Reports on CA Sec. of State Diebold Voting Machine 'Hack' Test!
Mainstream Media Reports Indicating Scheduled Attempt to 'Hack' Voting Machines Appear to Be Incorrect

State, Activists Still Negotiating Paramaters, Scheduling of Test as State and Federal Deadlines Draw Near…

On Friday, a story in the San Francisco Chronicle by political writer John Wildermuth reported that the California Secretary of State's office would be allowing Election Reform activists to perform an attempted hack of Diebold voting machines this Wednesday, November 30th. That report was soon picked up by the Associated Press and other outlets where it was repeated, in part, in newspapers, radio and television across the nation. Headlines along the line of "Hacker to try to attack state voting machines" were blared across the media throughout the holiday weekend.

Trouble is, the story seems to be all wrong...

1. The only way to fix this is a massive and UN-AUTHORIZED demonstration
When David Lightman becomes a Senator from Ohio and Johnny Mnemonic is elected mayor of New Orleans, then people will pay attention.

(Is David Lightman too obscure? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086567/)

2. I was thinking the Bullwinkle and Rocky for ticket for Md. Gov.
We can make Mr. Peabody the Comptroller, after all he's very sensible.

3. The SF Chronicle led a vile campaign to oust the Dem Sec of State Kevin

Shelley who had sued Diebold's ass and demanded to see their source code. We shouldn't trust anything they print, especially on this subject. I went to the BBV site and read that they were still negotiating and didn't like the conditions that were being set up. It's looking like just a PR move by Schwarz-appointed sec of state McPherson, who appears to be a shill for Diebold.

4. Yea they got rid of him. I hate the SF Chronicle
The Times is more reasonable. But I did read in the Sundays CC Times paper that this guy is going to try to hack into a machine. Now they'll probably come up with one that is not able to be hacked. We need to do a random audit.
I really liked what Shelley did.
