on Countdown he said that they were working on a big story and it didn't take long for Luskin to get to it. Vandehei didn't want to reveal too much but he did say that "sources close to Rove" believe that Viveca Novak will totally exonerate Rove. Boy, he sure knows how to water down expectations.

will nail his ass to the barn door? I don't put too much stock in what was said tonight. How could something Rove's lawyer said to a reporter exonerate Rove?

We've got several charges floating out there. Does she prove Rove wasn't the one who was the original leaker...who first put Plame's name out there? Wonderful. Let's party.

But how about the conspiracy of covering up Fitzgerald's investigation? How does she exonerate Rove on this one? Or his 4 various stories to the grand jury that required him to tap dance on the head of a pin the last time to avoid being nailed. Does she have some secret testimony that coroborates all 4 Rove testimonies?

Fitzgerald is the one who decides...not Vandehei or any of his WaPo lakeys. Remember, this is Bob Woodward's paper...one that is to be as trusted now as the New York Slimes.

is if she knew that Plame was an agent BEFORE the White House leaked it.

Even if it's true though, that does not exonerate Rove from his lies.
