Pelosi May Find Herself Third in Line for White House
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,176944,00.html

Quietly, without a shot being fired, a revolution is about to occur in American politics. There is a very strong chance that, one year from now, a woman will be third in line for the presidency of the United States.

If the current trend continues, Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives following the November 2006 congressional elections.

2006 Election theme.....R.I.G.

Religion
Immigration
Gays

People running for office cannot make any positive claims.

Is the war going great?
Is the economy booming?
Is the deficit being reduced/gone?
Are jobs abundant?
Do we have a trade surplus?
Is congress viewed as honest?

The people running for re-election cannot easily use any of the so-called normal campaign themes..

The only way to get people fired up so they turn out, is a re-hash of all the things that "scare" people..

Religion is an equal opportunity "scarer". Fundamentalists are scared that gubbmint wants to take their jesus away, and they want jesus to be EVERYWHERE.. Secular people are afraid that Jesus is being shoved down their throats everywhere, and they resent it.

Immigration is an issue that cannot really ever be solved, unless we want armed military patrolling our borders. Republicans have a love hate relationship with immigration. they love the cheap-nanny/gardner/fruit-picker/car washer part of it all, but they hate the fact that once here, the immigrants actually prefer to have their family with them. Once a family is reunited here, that requires schools, medical care, aid and eventually permanence.

Gays are somehow able to strike fear into the very hearts of republicans. They fear that their kids will be 'recruited' by the "Gay Army", or they may accidentally hire one. The thing they fear most about gays is that once given equal standing for their relationships, it will mean that money that used to be forfeited because they were not "married", would no longer roll back into the government coffers. Republican families have gay members (always have)..It's about the money..but they are too sneaky to just say it.

7. Flash: GOP Swept from Power in 2006; Impeachment Looms
Flash: GOP Swept from Power in 2006;
Impeachment Looms

By Bernard Weiner and Ernest Partridge
Co-Editors, The Crisis Papers
May 31, 2005

(Associated Press, Nov. 8, 2006) The Democrats didn't waste any time after their landslide victory in Tuesday's midterm election that put them in charge, with huge margins in both the House and Senate.

The incoming Democratic chairs of the various investigatory committees announced that subpoenas would be going out immediately to the White House for all documents relating to when and how the decision to attack Iraq was made; to how far up the chain of command the authorization for torture went; and whether Bush and Cheney and/or their subordinates lied to the Congress and the American People. Congressional committees also will be on the lookout for evidence of Administration involvement in war crimes, bribery and election fraud, Democratic officials said.

It is expected that bills of impeachment will be filed shortly thereafter against both President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

If both Bush and Cheney are removed from office, the new Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, would become the President, as stipulated in the Presidential Succession Act of 1947; she would nominate a Vice President for approval by the Senate.

I'm gonna love it when it really happens.

8. We need an "Impeachment Speaker"
Someone like John Conyers. Who has stood in the face of this regime's false claim of legitimacy since day one (January 6, 2001).

Make no mistake. A successful impeachment/removal needs to include the totality of crimes against the nation. Even if they are not specifically charged.

We'll need to push the Stolen Elections, the torture, the illegality of the war, and all the rest in addition to The Most Heinous Act of Terrorism in History -- threatening the American People (albeit falsely) with "mushroom clouds ... in 45 minutes."

As good as Pelosi has been lately, I just don't think she has the resume to take on the rest of the DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy with the vigor required to get the job done and redeem our national soul.
