Democratics sought records from Pentagon on selves, Republicans
Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee sought records from Pentagon on selves, Republicans
John Byrne

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has filed eight Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests of the Pentagon seeking information on various senators from each party since 2000, RAW STORY has discovered.

The filings sought information on who had made requests concerning Democratic senators who were up for reelection in 2002, and information the Pentagon had on the correspondence of prominent Senate Republicans John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Most requests, however, centered on their own senators.

Democrats also filed a request for documents on former Sen. Robert Torricelli (D-NJ), who opted not to run for reelection in 2002 after being dogged by an ethics scandal. The request was filed the summer before the senator decided not to run for reelection.

It appears that Democrats were also concerned what questions others were asking the Pentagon about their own senators. On several occasions, the campaign arm made requests for lists of what others had requested about them.

1. ... and?
It looks like all requests were granted or partially granted. Article doesn't say anything interesting was turned over.

2. Does anyone wonder why we allow these agencies to essentially

build files on Americans as if to try and engage in a type of information gathering which could lead to intimidation, blackmail us or in the end the attempt to render those trying to positively change and direct our country, into being submissive? I find it also amazing we are paying for our own invasion of our lives and our privacy?

Its as if the CIA, FBI and Pentagon are two way mirrors where they have some how, somewhere granted themselves the power to see everything and we see nothing. And we wonder about an imbalance of power? There it is.

The same thing can certainly be said with the Patriot Act. Its nothing less than psychological warfare of its own and intimidation being played on all Americans.

3. Now why would the Pentagon have records of any elected representative
Ya know, sometimes using the name "pentagon" is just a smoke screen for individuals acting to control the democratic process, that just happen to also wear a uniform.

By who's authority do these people gather any information whatsoever about any civilian.

I wonder if the individuals in the 'pentagon' that are collecting information are actually blackmailers working on behalf of the powerful/wealthy corporate/global operators. People not elected by anyone, except by the use of the money they happen to control. I won't even say it is their money as in all probability they have not created the value to begin with, the value was created by workers. And they have managed to squirrel the money away as their own, due to their position, not due to their contribution to society.

This damn MIC needs to be stomped flat. We hear, long after the fact, that the 'military' cannot account for $3 trillion dollars spent over the last several decades and now this, they are collecting information on those that are supposed to have financial oversight over the 'military'.

What is the hell is going-on in the pentagon? This right here is sufficient motive for certain individuals in the 'military' to being involved in 9-11, so they can cover their past stealing and squelch future accountability on what they have done in the past. I think there are treasonous people in power in the pentagon. And they have been at it for their entire careers. 'Duty and Honor' my butt.

Without the 'dirty commies' for enemies, why would we need a large military? To some people, they want the USA to be world policement. BTW, it would be a lifetime career for many in the military, to become the world police. But without enemies, maybe the people would begin to ask, why are we spending so much on the military?

All this is the same old crap we have been fed for the last 60 years. We have been feeding an attack dog (supposedly on a leash) for 60 years. The dog has broken it's leash and is now attacking us, the ones that have fed it. Maybe it's past time to put the dog down.
