Getting great joy from Cunningham self destruction. |
|
I have to rant. I am getting a lot of enjoyment watching Duke Cunningham go down the sewer. He's a cockroach, at best. Yeah, I know, Viet Nam flying ace, war hero, yadda, yadda, yadda. Well, all of that is erased. He's a worthless piece of crap. It was hilarious to watch this crook blubber like a little child on national TV. The right has zero character, and they will destroy this nation. With enemies like this, who needs Al-Qa eda?
The Republican Party is 80% scum, and there are those of us that want to put 'em all in their place. They think it won't happen, but one way or another, they will be history as soon as possible.

1. I don't revel in the misery of others, but... |
|
I felt no sympathy for him as he shed big crocodile tears on TV yesterday. He's only sorry that he got busted, not that he did it. He was giving no thought to how ethically wrong this was when he was sailing around on the yacht or selling his house for a $700,000 net profit.

...I've been enjoying it myself. Remember, this "military hero" was SELLING OUT our service members when he took those bribes. A man with all those MEDALS can't get much lower than that, IMO. Edit: "admit", hell! I've kinda been yelling it out loud: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5477092

That scumbag was walking around calling everyone else immoral and yapping about family values and gleefully covering up an illegal war. Fuck him.

12. And let's not forget his publicly stated wish that liberals be |
|
"lined up and shot" because they were objecting to/fighting bush's big ideas.
I'M ONE OF THOSE LIBERALS YOU'D LIKE TO SEE LINED UP AND SHOT, ASSHOLE!!!
I must admit I felt a little bit of compassion for him yesterday, seeing the clip of him crying and simpering and talking about how he was going to make amends...
Then, I was reminded of this death wish he had - for ME. And others like me.
FUCK HIM. I'd say "fuck him in the heart" if he had one. But I'm not convinced that he does. I don't think ANY of us here, DU rules or no, would EVER EVER sincerely wish such a thing on the people we oppose. I certainly wouldn't wish that on anyone. But THIS creep barfs up crap like that and his followers love him.
Beware of KARMA, mr. EX-congressman cunningham. You'd have my sympathies if you hadn't expressed the wish to see me murdered for my views.
I have a girlfriend who frequently shares her bewilderment with me about the sorry state of the nation. At one time she even commented that she was surprised that bush hadn't gotten shot. I said I wasn't, mainly because OUR SIDE simply doesn't do that stuff. Shooting people isn't what we do. Probably one of the reasons why so many of us are just flat-out opposed to war - don't like shooting people. We tend to do things like chain ourselves to trees, march while holding signs, honk our horns in approval, set up shrines and makeshift cemeteries to honor the war dead, lie down and pretend to be dead on the sidewalk or street, and as the protestors in Denver showed, bang on pots and pans with spoons. It's the folks on bush's side who do that other shit. It's generally the gun nuts and the extremists and family-planning opponents and doctor stalkers and religious wackos and Ruby Ridge anarchical "I hate the government" types who obsess on anger and intolerance and hatred who do that stuff. We're the ones who want to STOP war, not start or encourage it. I despise bush, but I would NEVER want to see him harmed.
For "duke" cunningham to be blathering and poor-me'ing now that he's facing hard time and his life is over - has he thought to apologize to those of us whose lives he wanted snuffed because we dared to disagree with his president? Seems to me some of those "amends" he spoke of making - ought to be for that horrendous verbal assault.
NO PITY. NONE. I know my Catholic school training teaches me to forgive. Period. Well, some of those teachings I have a bit of a struggle with...

good will going on around DU!
I've actually had to work to keep from feeling sorry for him because he looks like someone's grandpa.
But he's really Scarlet O'Hara: he's not sorry he did it; he's just sorry he got caught.

Paraphrasing, that "liberals should be taken out and shot."
So for "Duke the Puke," here's my sympathy now: :nopity:
