With reports that Luskin has been in near-daily contact with Fitzgerald, I imagine he is spinning like a top. Given Rove's style, threats of some sort -- veiled and not so veiled, real or fictional -- are probably involved. You know, "If you indict, at trial Karl will. . ."
Wouldn't surprise me if Fitzgerald is just stringing him along ("Um hum... ya, I'll get back to you"), following up, and perhaps using what they are feeding him to build a stronger case against Rove and his fellow conspirators.
In the meantime, Luskin and Rove are rubbing their hands, patting each other on the back, believing Fitzgerald is buying what Rove is selling.
Of course, time will tell. But if Viveca is helpful to Rove in the same way they claim Woodward's revelations are helpful to Libby, we're looking at empty spin.
