The new Bush war strategy |
|
We going to actually do *%^$.
President Bush, facing growing doubts about his war strategy, said Wednesday that Iraqi troops are increasingly taking the lead in battle but that "this will take time and patience." In a speech defending his policy, Bush said that Iraqi forces have not always performed well in combat but have made substantial progress in the past year.
"Strange game the only way to win is not to play"

1. was there one fresh idea? One strategy? One plan? |

The parts I heard (I had to turn it off the radio at one point, I preferred a Lavitra advert, he was making me physically ill) sounded like what you do with left-over corned beef long after St. Paddy's day, mixed with onion, garlic, potato, and seasonings.

bush's new "campaign" is contemporaneous with the release of a new White House Document, (drumroll) Our National Strategy for Victory in Iraq. Can anyone say, Ministry of Truth, George Orwell?
On page 1, "longer term" victory is defined as, Iraq is peaceful, united, stable, and secure, well integrated into the international community, and a full partner in the global war on terrorism.
Apparently, no matter how long it takes to achieve longer term victory in Iraq, the "Global War On Terror" (GWOT) will still be chugging right along. This is the contradiction that precludes any decisive victory in the Americans' Iraq crisis.
The GWOT is being planned as an intergenerational conflict. Iraq is the "central front" in the GWOT. Therefore, there can be no peace in Iraq until the conclusion of GWOT.
PS. After they cleaned up 42nd Street, does anyone know whatever happened to the three-card-Monty players who used to scam the tourists in Times Square? I think maybe they moved to Washington.
