Is this GOP from Indiana actually this clueless? You decide... |

Listened to NPR last night; Robert Siegel talked to two House members (one R, one D) who had made recent trips to Iraq. Rep. Mike Sodrel (R-IN), when asked about the war, said "there is a strategy, things are happening, progress is being made" x(
But here's the amazing part...when asked about why we're in Iraq, he said, "If we hadn't been attacked on 9/11, we wouldn't be in Afghanistan or Iraq...they brought the war to us, each of these is in response. We didn't attack anybody, we were attacked, and we have responded to those attacks".
Newsflash for ya Mike: IRAQ DIDN'T ATTACK US.
Sheesh.:eyes:
(From "2006 House Races" in the DU Research Forum: "Sodrel defeated incumbent Baron Hill by only 1,425 votes. Hill is considering an attempt to reclaim his seat.")

1. He's just repeating the bullshit he's been fed inside the |

beltway. Those guys live in a bubble, too, spending most of their time fundraising and relying on aides and (for the GOP) reps from PACs and other contributors to tell them what's going on and what to say and how to vote.
Access to these guys is pretty carefully controlled. The going price for GOP access is a cool million. Dunno what the Dem price is.
