WHAT rational person could look at this PHOTO & not think he's incompetent
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 06:06 PM by Bluebear

Is this 2005? Is this a President or King of the Dollhouse? THIS is restoring honor and integrity to our White House? Disgraceful.

13. that's true.........
...only a little man would need that much of a display to make himself seem important.

Truly important people don't need to make such a display. By their very nature, they show the world their importance......and not by repeating stay the course, stay the course over and over again!!

This little man just doesn't get it! The people are against the war and they're not getting on the war train again without some kind of evidence or strategy.

14. It looks fascist because it is fascist
and a good 40%+ of Americans like fascism. 10%+ more can be persuaded to get in line when necessary. That's how we got to the point where we are- and it doesn't look like there's any going back without a great deal of hardship first.

53. The term "incompetent" can misrepresent and thereby excuse what's going
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 11:41 PM by tiptoe
on below the surface:

Death Mask: The Deliberate Disintegration of Iraq
...The recent revelations about the virulent spread of death squads ravaging Iraq have only confirmed for many people the lethal incompetence of the Bush Regime, whose brutal bungling appears to have unleashed the demon of sectarian strife in the conquered land. The general reaction, even among some war supporters, has been bitter derision: "Jeez, these bozos couldn't boil an egg without causing collateral damage."

But what if the truth is even more sinister? What if this murderous chaos is not the fruit of rank incompetence but instead the desired product of carefully crafted, efficiently managed White House policy?

Issue brought up on this DU thread: The mess in Iraq is going exactly as planned.

"Incompetence" has been a term frequently deployed (e.g. by Al Franken) to describe Bush admin performance. Perhaps "deliberate incompetence" is more appropriate for describing means employed by Neocons - as policy - for their "crony-capitalist friends" to address opportunities for "inventing/exploiting chaos" whether in the Middle East or New Orleans.
"Oops" - Mike Brown ala FEMA was "incompetent" in response to chaos and death in New Orleans (yet praised by * "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job!")
"Oops" - Rumsfeld was "incompetent" for ignoring advice on size of force required to win in Iraq, and allowing 800 tons of already-bunkered explosives to be "stolen". (Looting = an expression of freedom in Iraq.) Resignation not accepted by Predator Bush 3 times.
"Oops" - Paul Bremer was "incompetent" for disbanding the organized Iraqi army and delaying the release of payments to sustain them. "What he knows about Iraq could not quite fill a thimble. What he knows about any part of the world would not fill a thimble..." "When asked what he thought of reports of $9 billion missing from the funds to rebuild Iraq he said 'I suggest you not worry, as that $9 billion was Iraqi money, not US money.'" (He earned a Bushie Medal of Freedom.)
"Oops" - Condoleeza Rice (PhD) was "incompetent" as NSA for an apparent inability to comprehend "Bin Laden determined to strike inside US" (Last cluster of "incompetent" "turning Aspens" had her re-positioned as Secretary of State.)
"Oops" - Wolfowitz (as Deputy Secretary of Defense under Rumsfeld) was characterized as "incompetent" for ignorance of the number of troops killed in Iraq (off by 100%). He also argued fewer than 100,000 troops would be necessary in the war. This "incompetent aspen" was re-directed to work his ways as the President of the World Bank.

Text and video of an SNL skit on the "incompetence" of other Bush appointees: "WE'RE ALL UNQUALIIFIED!!..."

There is an incredible scene toward the end when the Great and Villainous Leader gives a propaganda speech amid huge jets of fire and other pyrotechnics, like the kind of setting Bush will probably be using by this time next year.

(Of course, Michael Douglas brings the whole thing down and - well, go rent the movie. It's a fun one.)
