3. I was impressed also
in fact gushed about him at lunch. We had a discussion comparing Carter with Clinton, and then with GW Bush.

6. Amazing man
The book is very good. Saw him on Larry King a while back and he spoke of the immorality of this administration. Their hypocrisy vs his sincerity. He is what being a Christian is all about.

8. Ah yes... he is a Christian. Who else goes out and starts and sponsors
a Habitat for Humanity?

Bonus question:
And who goes out and only refers to Habitat for Humanity in a speech?

Answer - the same person whose Party takes away from those who are in need of a Habitat for Humanity. The same Party that commits a hypocritical act or voices one about 100 times a day - officially.

And then, of course, we are condemned for being bleeding heart liberals.

14. I spent a week in Louisiana building the 1st post-Katrina Habitat house.
One of the houses promoted on the Today show back in October. But my wonderful feeling was overshadowed by Chimp and Pickles showing up the following week to hammer a couple of nails. Fortunately a lot of people see his little stunt through justifiably-hypocritical lenses. Just another cheap photo-op for the kool-aide set, and one more reason for me to love and appreciate Carter.

That's okay, though. I'll take the "bleeding heart liberal" label any day over the cold-hearted compassion-less conservative label they are stuck with.

12. President Carter has always been genuine
He still teaches Sunday School in Plains, Georgia. He has worked hard to eradicate disease across the world. A Noble prize winner who doesn't boast, but remains humble in his approach to life.

13. I liked President Carter as President and still like him
some of the same dirty tricks were used on Carter as was Kerry or any of the others.

15. I love the comment he used on Larry King:
Something to the effect of "I am a better former-President than I was a President."

16. Yes I seen that. When I think of great I think of Jimmy Carter
and I laugh at the memory of bro' billy. None of it ever fazed President Carter.

18. I was laughing out loud at Frankin yesterday and
was looking forward to hearing President Carter. I went to dinner and totally missed it.
I served in the Army under Carter and during Iran Hostage. I am so damn proud of him for not starting any damn careless war. I have been saying for years that he was one of the best Presidents and watching the freepers laugh. It takes years, but his value is coming out and the freepers stand by dumbya

Nobody knows more about compassion and fair elections that Carter.

19. Carter - one of the
best examples we have of what a real Christian is all about and I totally respect that man. If all Christians were like Carter, what would the world look like?

Yet, I have fundy relatives who hate him. They believe he allowed millions of illegal aliens into the country. My relatives aren't very tolerant of "others." I explained that Carter's immigration laws only changed the "legal" immigration laws and allowed maybe 20 thousand or so more "legal" immigrants. Told them it was Reagun who legalized millions of "illegals." I don't know where they get such misinformation. It's funny how they can disregard all his Christian virtues and dwell on this one thing - when really, the Christian thing to do would be to allow everyone here who wants to come (it's actually the only somewhat un-Christian thing I can think of about Carter).
