did chris matthews pull a fast one on Amy Goodman this evening?
He had her and Byron York as his guests/soundboards whilst he questioned revelations that bushco, was planting and paying good money for stories to be planted in the iraqi/arab press.

it is my impression that byron york sort of glossed over the implications of this bush manipulation...but when it came time for tweety to ask amy goodman, and she called it like it is, just by merely, among other things, invoking the gravity of lying to the iraqi people ....

chris matthews made a "yes, but" turn, changed the subject somewhat, asked byron york to comment on that and gave amy goodman zero chance to say anything further.

O! the games people play!

1. He does that all the time with Amy Goodman.
He cuts her short and she hardly gets the airtime as Andrea Mitchell. I don't know why he bothers to have her on the show.

6. or why she even bothers to appear on his show.
could it be that, maybe everytime he asks her to go on his show, she has a glimmer of hope that he appeareance might reach people who would otherwise not hear any sliver of truth...

15. What's with the eyes?
What you say may be correct but the host should treat all his guest that he invites with respect. Except maybe Michele Malkin.

17. the eyes? do you mean the bangheads?
Edited on Fri Dec-02-05 06:52 PM by flordehinojos
if that is what you mean it is just a good illustration of my frustration with all the spin and obstruction of truth...whether it comes from the bushie boy's own mouth, or that of others like matthews.

oops! after i posted this, i saw the post with the eyes... the eyes were my way of saying, "i don't know why anyone would go on the matthews show..."

10. i watch only when the guests interest me...which is to say, i only watch
on those days, and at those times in the program when a guest appereance may interest me. sometimes i just watch to listen to the sort of spin that he is putting on things but then i become exasperated and mute it, or change the channel.

i do agree watching him or any of the other media whores is a banghead job.

13. you got it right, although from time to time those guests on the opposite
of matthews manage to get in a word or two...like amy goodman managed to get in a word about the bush people planting outright lies in the arab press, and when he tried to deny the "outright lies" part of it, she countered it with articles written by real journalists in the american press pointing out, with facts, just how and where the bushies have lied their asses off to the arabic world in iraq, and what an insult it is to any iraqi who may have at any moment trusted or believed in the bush stench of spreading democracy in iraq.

she nailed him there and that is when he about shut her up.

it seems dear tweety suffers from the same POWER AND CONTROL disease that the bushie boy suffers from.

3. You must have great patience to watch that jerk for more than 1 minute.
When I flip on the TV and he is on, I jump to ESPN or the food channel.

7. i do too, although i flip back and forth to see who he is talking to...
if it is people like amy goodman, or katrina vandenheuvel, or howard dean, or ... someone who is going to speak truth to power, i usually keep it tuned ... only to feel frustrated everytime he denies them the airtime he has invited them to have by having them on his show.

I missed Hardball tonight! f*cking Matthews..I'm going to stay up late and watch the re-run, then indulge in my hobby of e-mailing him
to tell him what I think of his candyass form of journalism!

BTW...did you see the show the other day..when he called people who hate Bush "Left Wing Weirdos"...oooh, I sent him a scorcher!

12. No i missed that one, or i missed that part of the show but i did hear him
recently say that he admires people who "tell it like it is and president bush did just that today".... matthews was talking about that bush speechifying and lies and spin on the plan to victory in iraq. just with one big swoop matthews denied the reality that bush's speech that day, and every day of bush's life in the presidency, has been filled with nothing more than outright, malevolent, immoral, evil lies.
