2. Uh, aren't they Christmas parties? |
|
I'm just sayin...
My own personal feelings are that any funds spend on these self-serving parties should be spend on gift/goodie packages for the troops. Of course, that will never happen out of this sorry-assed group of 'leaders'.

5. Coolest idea I've heard to end Iraq war |
|
heh, I remember back a couple of months after we started fighting in Iraq, there was this lady who had lost a son and was really mad. She wrote, and this may not apply as well in winter, that:
(paraphrasing) --- > We need, as a country, to make some showing, some small showing, to our troops that we here in the continental United States are standing with them as they endure hardships in the deserts of Iraq.
Therefore, I am proposing that we shut off all air conditioning in state and national government buildings for the duration of this war. This shows that we as a people are at least willing to endure the same furnace-like conditions that our troops are going through on a daily basis in the deserts of Iraq. We could at least do that.
---------------
This woman apparently knows the mental state of most government employees and contractors - which is that they are weak and complaining. The obvious outcome here was, laughingly, that these people would quickly complain so much that we would HAVE to get out of Iraq. Can you imagine the bitching inside every government building as these fools went about playing Windows Solitaire and Minesweeper in (just) 90 degree heat?
hehe

Gawd knows here in TX I couldn't live w/o it! Perhaps 'cooler' minds would prevail?
