Bush Abruptly Ended Abramoff Investigation in 2002! (must-see!!)

Update <2005-12-2 11:41:16 by Sherlock Google>: BUSH SILENCED PREVIOUS ABRAMOFF INVESTIGATION IN 2002. KARL HELPED TO GET BUSH REMOVE FREDERICK BLACK FROM ABRAMOFF CASE AND CLOSE INVESTIGATION OF GUAM SCANDAL!

An early administration attempt to cover for Abramoff?
This from today's LA Times ...

A U.S. grand jury in Guam opened an investigation of controversial lobbyist Jack Abramoff more than two years ago, but President Bush removed the supervising federal prosecutor and the inquiry ended soon after.

Abramoff, who then represented the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, alerted his clients in a memo about the expected report and warned: "It will require some major action from the Hill and a press attack to get this back in the bottle."

It is of course important to remember that all of this happened before the scandals began to erupt around Abramoff. Thus it would have been before he became so radioactive that the White House began to wash its collective hands of him. Note that the article suggests Karl Rove's direct involvement in the choice of Black's replacement.

1. Oops.
That's gonna add to the sting when the indictments start coming down. Presumably this lands Bush on the new prosecutr's list.

10. Oh wow
Really? Why would Bush do that though? Unless they're trying to keep all the criminals there to keep their power and from them getting caught in their crimes.

3. Bush and Rove have some "splainen" to do. "Obstruction of Justice" is an
impeachable offense, is it not? What better way to obstruct justice than to remove the prosecutor a la Nixon and Archibald Cox? But unlike Nixon, Bush apparently got away with it.

stay at the top of people's thoughts, hence is why I replied to keep this kicked so that this thread will not have the same fate as the thread that I alluded to earlier.

15. Abramoff, Delay - Mr.Scooter Scanlon already is cooperating with
investigators -- The Bush Cartel is headed down the tubes - 2006 elections will give up at least one of the houses if not both -- Bush impeachment proceedings starting to look quite possible.

16. The republican party has become a criminal enterprise.
The criminal behavior of the Bush-Abramoff-DeLay crime family is ubiquitous.

22. Why aren't we hearing more calls for chimp to resign?
I think the majority of Americans would say he should resign, why don't we hear the Democrats demanding it?

This is just one of his many scandals, it is time the Democrats put out a list of one-hundred reasons Bush needs to resign, it won't be hard at all to list one hundred corrupt actions of this administration.

More Problems at Justice Department

It is no secret that the current Justice Department may well be the most politicized in memory, if not history. Ashcroft's mishandling of the Rove investigation, where he was receiving private briefings concerning alleged misconduct by his political friend and ally and former consultant for many months before he was forced to recuse himself is a case in point.

Recently I learned of very questionable actions by the Department in replacing the Acting U.S. Attorney in charge of the Abramahoff investigation in Guam. He was dropped, possibly because he was too agressive in pursuing the case, and the replacement has apparently not pursued the matter. Because of these concerns, today, I along with Madeleine Bordallo, the Delegate of Guam requested the Inspector General to investigate. Raw Story has our letter.
