I'm Sorry DU,...
but why did so many torch me?

I saw for the first time today what I thought were new ideas that raise a ton of questions about what happened on 9/11. And when I posted those surprising points and the link to more information, I was outright set aflame.

And NOTE: I never said I believed in any theory, I never said I accepted everything the original authors had to say about it. I only brought up three, what seemed to me, to be fairly new points I had not heard of before on a controversial topic.

I suppose I should have put MANY MANY paragraphs disclaiming my position on the issue, and I accept that. But I feel absolutely scorched, burned and drug down to the dungeon where I can complete my immolation.

Are DUers THAT AFRAID of the topic?

Thanks for the rough treatment everyone. I'm glad I'm not a noob. I've been beaten around this board before, so I'm not totally dissuaded.

1. I'm sorry, berni.
I don't know what thread you are talking about because I wasn't online until just now...but I am sorry if you were treated poorly.

That speaks volumes about people.

3. You may have been seeing that for the first time
but lots of us have already heard about it and seen it and "discussed" it.

4. People are quite afraid of taking on "conspiracy theories" here because...
They equate/conflate plausible, or at least possible scenarios, like Govt. complicity in the 9/11 hijackings, or discrepancies in the Wellstone crash, etc. with truly outlandish nonsense like UFO abductions, chemtrails, new age bullshit, and govt. complicity in controlling the weather.

This is unfortunate and keeps a lot of delicate, controversial topics from being rationally discussed for fear of being branded a "tinfoiler." It'd be nice if those who wish to discuss conspiracy theories, or topics labelled as such, would refrain from bringing up the weirder/stupider shit, and it would also help if the skeptics wouldn't paint the entire subject with a brush that would be more appropriate for just a few items. But don't expect that to happen anytime soon.

7. God, I hate that 'tinfoiler' crap.
Not all conspiracy theories are true, but some of them are quite plausible. Maybe the 'tinfoilers' aren't just that. Maybe they are people that are thinking a lot harder about things that the rest of us are. More power to them...it does no one any real harm.

6. Hi berni_mccoy......
There are still too many questions about 9-11 and they have not been answered by either the administration or here at DU.

I'm still open to investigate and appreciate your contribution. If those who flamed you are satisfied with the official story, they could just go on to the next topic. I'll check out the movie when it is available and keep an open mind.

Thanks for bringing this up.

8. Although your post might've seemed repetitive
it's not like it hasn't happened MANY times before, and is no reason to flame someone. As someone who has been flamed (and surely will be again), please don't hestitate to post for this reason, I know I don't. Some people have major 'tudes, and there is nothing we can do about that.
