The National Review owes ME an apology re BUSH/Nazi past.
Hey,

Anyone read last month's National Review where they trashed my "Bush is not a Nazi - so stop saying that"? Called us BUSH HATERS - http://www.takebackthemedia.com/bushnonazi.html"

Looks like they Take Back the Media and me and APOLOGY, and I intend to seek it--

go rate this, get it up to a big fat five!

6. G W Bush Visit to Auschwitz-Remember what he said?

I seem to remember reports that he said something odd to the head of the Auschwitz memorial-something like "do people question or take issue with what you present here"?

Does anyone have the exact quote?

10. Speaking of Auschwitz, here's an article connecting the Bush family...
How the Bush Family Wealth is Linked to the Jewish Holocaust
<http://globalresearch.ca/articles/ROG309A.html>

Excerpt:

"But while President Bush publicly embraced the community of holocaust survivors in Washington last spring, he and his family have been keeping a secret from them for over 50 years about Prescott Bush, the president's grandfather. According to classified documents from Dutch intelligence and US government archives, President George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush made considerable profits off Auschwitz slave labor. In fact, President Bush himself is an heir to these profits from the holocaust which were placed in a blind trust in 1980 by his father, former president George Herbert Walker Bush.

Throughout the Bush family's decades of public life, the American press has gone out of its way to overlook one historical fact - that through Union Banking Corporation (UBC), Prescott Bush, and his father-in-law, George Herbert Walker, along with German industrialist Fritz Thyssen, financed Adolf Hitler before and during World War II. It was first reported in 1994 by John Loftus and Mark Aarons in The Secret War Against the Jews: How Western Espionage Betrayed the Jewish People.

The US government had known that many American companies were aiding Hitler, like Standard Oil, General Motors and Chase Bank, all of which was sanctioned after Pearl Harbor. But as The New York Times reporter Charles Higham later discovered, and published in his 1983 groundbreaking book, Trading With The Enemy; The Nazi American Money Plot 1933-1949, 'the government smothered everything during and even after the war.' Why?

According to Higham, the US government believed 'a public scandal ... would have drastically affected public morale, caused widespread strikes and perhaps provoked mutinies in the armed services.' Higham claims the government thought 'their trial and imprisonment would have made it impossible for the corporate boards to help the American war effort.'

However, Prescott Bush's banks were not just financing Hitler as previously reported. In fact, there was a distinct business link much deeper than Mr. Higham or Mr. Loftus knew at the time their books were published.

A classified Dutch intelligence file which was leaked by a courageous Dutch intelligence officer, along with newly surfaced information from U.S. government archives, 'confirms absolutely,' John Loftus says, the direct links between Bush, Thyssen and genocide profits from Auschwitz."

This article is dynamite, and there is quite a bit more information floating around the Net.

16. One thing doesn't add up though.
In this AP Jonathon Salant http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031017/ap_on_re_us/prescott_bush_nazis_1story

it says Fritz Thyssen broke with the Nazis in 1938 over persecution of Catholics and Jews, and spent 1941 - 1945 in a Nazi prison.

In the story linked above,

http://globalresearch.ca/articles/ROG309A.html it says Fritz Thysson profited from genocide at Auschwitz.

Now that would be strange indeed. Just trying to point out a discrepancy. In matters like this we have to be very careful not to paint with too broad a brush.

17. Loftus has the explanation at his website, I believe
Google John Loftus

Apparently Thyssen had a "pretend" split and ended up, I believe, in US hands.

But he had placed all his Nazi accounts in Switzerland or Holland to be safe and still profitted by an old switcheroo.

The AP story is very weak on some points and leaves other key facts out all together.

But we are getting closer

Translation from the Polish of the Newsweek article on Prescott Bush and the Nazis
"The Bush family reaped rewards from the forced labour prisoners in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Prescott Bush, the grandfather of the US president George W bush, during WW2 had financial links with the nazis, thanks to whom he made his fortune as a banker.

Prescott Bush was a director and shareholder of the United Banking Corporation, which acquired from the nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, the Consolidate Silesian Steel Corporation, where prisoners from Auschwitz worked.

During the summer in 1942, this was reported in the American press and the US government examined the books of UBC. On the 20th of October, the government commenced action against the company under the trading with the enemy act (sic) which Franklin D. Roosevelt enacted a week after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941.

The company could continue to function under the limitations that it’s functions would not result in any help being given to the Nazis. Only in 1943, Prescott Bush distanced himself from UBC and had even engaged in the collection of funds for the victims of the war inhis role as president of the National War Fund."

Another translation has been provided by Scoop reader Mateusz.

"The Bush family made a profit from the Auschwitz prisoners’ slave labour. Prescott Sheldon Bush, ‘Dubya’s’ grandfather, had tight financial connections with the Nazis, thanks to which he multiplied the family’s fortune as a banker.

Prescott Bush was an executive and shareholder of the United Banking Corporation, which bought the Consolidated Silesian Steel Corporation from the Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, who had been employing prisoners from nearby Auschwitz.

In the summer of 1942, the case was made public by the American press, which lead to the investigation of the financial records of UBC by the government.

On the 20th of October that year the authorities took over the company’s shares on the basis of an enemy trade act, which President Franklin D. Roosevelt had signed one week after the attack on Pearl Harbour in December 1941.

The corporation could still operate, but only if its actions would not in any way benefit the Nazis. Prescott Bush pulled out of the UBC as late as 1943 and for a period of time committed himself to fundraising for the casualties of war as CEO of the National War Fund. "

12. "Do people challenge the accuracy of what you present?"
5th paragraph

http://www.tmtmetropolis.ru/metropolis/stories/2003/06/06/120.html

So it was most apt that the only question Bush was heard to ask during his Auschwitz tour actually
dealt with Holocaust revisionism: "Do people challenge the accuracy of what you present?" he asked
his guide, The New York Times reports. This might seem a rather bizarre question at first glance -- but
then, Bush has a personal stake in the cultivation of historical amnesia. His own family fortune was built
in part by a long and profitable collusion with the Nazis -- an ugly story oft told here, and raked up
again by Newsweek Poland during the presidential visit.

I'm glad that the Bush family history is getting some above ground airtime. It might help people to understand our country's present mess when they see how vested the Bush family is with the economics of war and making profits on other people's misery for 70 years, now.

18. I think the Bush Cabal will easilly spin this
Here's the guy who Grandfather Bush did business with:

Fritz Thyssen broke with the Nazis in 1938 over their persecution of Catholics and Jews, and fled to Switzerland. He later was arrested and spent 1941 to 1945 in a Nazi prison. His brother lived in Switzerland from 1932 to 1947 but continued to operate businesses in Germany.

And they'll talk about how he only owned 1 share in the company.

Not that I will believe the spin, but that's what they'll point to.

22. Prescott Bush Owned ONE SHARE BUT he was a DIRECTOR of
a Nazi owned Banking company.

That means he was RESPONSIBLE for decision making and had equal votes with 3 Nazis, and 3 other Yalies (and three of the Directors were Skull and Bonesmen - 4 Yalies altogether BACKED Hitler AFTER THE WAR HAD STARTED)

I posted a link elsewhere but folks should read John Loftus' website for the deal on Thyssen and how he hid the nazi dough (or should I say the gold teeth and fillings from dead Jews) with the Bushes help.

Thssen his his Nazi interests and fled in order to do just that. The Nazis let him go to the custody of the US government WHILE WE WERE STILL AT WAR!!!

Wonder WHY. Thyssen had connections. But he had to keep them under wraps and his "connections" therefore kept him under wraps during the war.

I think he is the one who wrote the book "I Financed Hitler" (probably a blackop coverup)

23. It's good that the Corporate Media FINALLY acknowledges the story, but...
They still whitewash the Hell out of Grandpappy's involvement.

If it's true (as the article suggests) that Prescott "never directly aided Hitler", then how the HELL did he end up with investments in a Nazi steel company which used concentration camp labor?? And will the mainstream media ever touch that story?

Maybe I can get a few thousand people to write to this turd and force him to write a retraction.

this could be fun,

more important to get the word out :)
