Whatever the French do, we've got to do opposite.

Bring out those aluminum trees, those polyester leisure suits, wrap that cabbage patch doll, pull out the strings of tinsel, and hang a wreath on your hood ornament. By golly, we're not gonna let those liberals take Gaud out of Christmas!

2. christmas is gross
Christmas is just an excuse for Christians to wave their
religion in our faces. Our economy has become so dependent on
these holidays, that we can't get rid of religion in the
public square. Modern Christmas is was invented so
Corporations could get one last chance to hawk their goods.

we dont spend much at all so the corporations aren't getting rich off of us. i dont wave anything in front of anyones face because i see the purity in atheist as much as i do the muslim as much as the jew or the wiccan or the christian. christmas is as much the celebration and embracing of winter solstice. christmas, .... is time with family. and time with family is ALWAYS and i mean always GOOD for me.

christmas is fun

5. 2 great posts, thank you for making them
I'm an agnostic and the closest I get to celebrating Christmas is putting up a tree and hurling presents at my family, but I respect the inherent right for all people to have their beliefs respected, as you have demonstrated.

Now if we can only teach that to the fundies of every stripe. :)

7. well i..... am going to try sugar cookies this year. with all the nieces
and nephews. will be the first year they are old enough and not too much of a mad house, so going a little beyond. and you my agnostic friend would be top on the list for a christmas tree sugar cookie. actually i would like to pass some out in the neighborhood. this isnt a once a year thing. we have put effort the last couple years to own our neighborhood, that means, saying hi to neighbors, and..... sugar cookies

thank you for your post. i dont think all this has to be nearly as hard as we are making it.

and those fundies, they too are my neighbors, lol lol. with all my liberal stickers on car, and my peace necklace,.....yup. i am working hard spreading the word.
