Is the Media one big happy family? Is Monica related to Candy? |
|
Isn't Candy Crowley from CNN?
Isn't it Monica Crowley at MSNBC?

2. Is that why Alan Colmes doesn't speak out strongly |
|
for the Democrats?
I just heard Monica and she was talking about Saddam. She said something like,"Why are they letting him speak out in the coart room? Why can't they rein him in?"

If Candy is Monica's sister then they are both in bed with the Rush family.

6. I'm really fascinated by the connections |
|
in the media.
For example, we know that Ron Reagan is Ronald's son.
We know that James Carville is owned by Mary Rethug
But, I think I'm understanding from the thread that Monica Crowley and Candy Crowley ARE NOT related, right?

7. The owners of the media belong to the same network |

(the "old boys network", the "you scratch my back, i scratch your back" -network)

8. Exactly. Media ownership is the place to look. |
|
They're the one's that steer coverage. They're the track that the little slot cars ride in.

9. where to look (for goclark) |
|
http://web.takebackthemedia.com/geeklog/public_html / Who owns the media http://www.nowfoundation.org/issues/communications/tv/mediacontrol.htmlIt's 5 or 6 large corporations, the largest in terms of Dollar value is General Electric, owner of amongst others, NBC. The Murdoch media imperium does have by far the widest reach (see "Outfoxed"). A DU-er recently mapped a large part of the Murdoch media empire; http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5511857

It is a wonder that any Democrat ever gets elected.
I thought we just had to get the NeoCons out of office, HA!

If you thought it's just the neocons, you've got quite a few more things coming. Given that you have an open mind, you'll find out in due time.

14. It is one tangled web of greed and control |
|
The Media owns the country, not the neocons.
If all this is as deep as it looks, the Neo Cons could not function unless the Media was supporting them.
So, the game is to keep after the Media to bring Bush down and bring the Robertson's and Woodward's down and Rush(almost forgot him) down.

17. The media are key but they don't own anything; |
|
the media are owned by the big (transnational) corporations and corporate conglomerates. To them the media are a tool to control the rest of us.
But it's definitely worth it to go after the media, to expose them for what they are, to call them on the lies and omissions, to boycott them, to support alternative media (democracy now, mother jones, z-mag and many many others), whatever suits anyone's fancy.

11. Yep. GE's also one of our largest "defense" contractors, |
|
if I'm not mistaken.
Big media outlets have become nothing but PR wings for the respective conglomerates.
