Woman threatens to kill judge

San Francisco - A jury convicted a San Francisco woman of threatening to kill a federal judge and a husband who fought in court to allow his catastrophically ill wife to die, said prosecutors on Wednesday.

According to Northern California US attorney Kevin Ryan, Dera Marie Jones posted a death threat on an online bulletin board in 2005 as Michael Schiavo sought to keep a feeding tube from his vegetative wife, Terri.

'I will kill the judge'

According to prosecutors, the message read: "If she dies, I will kill Michael Schiavo and the judge, this is for real!!"

Prosecutors said FBI agents identified 32-year-old Jones as the author of the threat and she was charged with "transmitting a threat in interstate commerce".

According to Ryan, she was convicted late on Tuesday after a two-day trial in San Francisco federal court.
