I knew it would be high--but natural gas bill still has me ticked. |
|
Paying twice as much for the same period last year has got me wondering if this isn't California all over again. Yes, we have had a cold snap, but this is ridiculous. We were set up for this 3 months ago, so never mind if there really is a shortage--let the market work its magic. We've been punk'd by the Pukes and for the Democrats--they are too busy wringing their hands over their lack of power. No, I am not sure anything can be done--but has anyone suggested rationing or something similar? What good is government if they can't protect us from this type of economic calamity?

for anything but to bleed us all dry. The WH used "Katrina" to make more money for the oil companies and made us think we had shortages. I may be wrong about it but I do not believe there is a shortage. And when I see the billions the oil companies made out of it I want to punch someone out.

Bush is asking congress for $1billion dollars - to GIVE to the fuel companies. Under the premise of helping poor people afford their higher bills this winter.
Great - so just let the companies charge whatever the hell they want, then make sure they get it by subsidizing with taxpayer money. You pay one way or another. Profit margins are unaffected. This is such obvious, horrible corruption.

I have home heating oil at $2.13 a gallon now.
How many Americans will for how long sit and freeze in their homes while greed over need runs amuck.

either 637.47 or 647.37, I can't remember which. I took one look at it, and handed it to my hubby to handle, because frankly it pissed me off just to think about it.

9. I don't think candles would throw out enough heat to make |

anything but a psychological difference, but you might try kerosene lamps. (Assuming you don't have young children who might tip them over.) They throw off a lot of heat and might make a difference in a small, well-insulated room.
Also, put down lots of rugs, make sure your windows are covered, and close off rooms you're not actually using at the moment.

Around Johnstown PA a family had their electric service cut off due to financial problems. They used candles for light and a little heat and their house burned down, killed several people.

The media is already setting it up for them. "Expect rolling blackouts because of limited natural gas supplies."
