Junior's approval rating up to 40%??
Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 10:27 AM by wtmusic
Wha hoppen'd?

Hmm...threatened veto on torture bill...walk out of Kyoto talks...nope, nothing there to draw from...world hates us even more, leadership skills redlining.

Has Gannon/Guckert been making the rounds of the pollsters? Have the American people finally decided that having a stupid, petulant little fratbrat prick for a president is a GOOD thing?

Someone help me out here...

wtf?

I should add that the proverbial "bar" for evaluating Generalissimo el Busho is pretty fucking LOW.

15. Maybe it didn't...+ - 3.5. could be he is still at 36.5%...Right?

And the poll before could be 37%(MOE)..so he is flat or could be still going down.

If he doesn't trip over it (after karl shows him where it is) the media whores are ecstatic

17. When the bar was high, he called it a limbo contest.
As the bar gets lower, he calls it a high-jump. The people who buy into this revisionism are fucking insane.

4. More than half the country disapprove of the way * is going.
That is a great victory for sanity, compared to what has been polled in the past.

Keep him below 40% and his coattails will drag a lot of GOPukes down with him.

And won't that be nice?

That is the reason. As fuel cost rise again I see a slide anew.

28. BINGO
Gas prices went back down to about pre Katrina level. That's all that it takes to get a 4 point bump.

Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 10:38 AM by bigtree
The reporters who lead the story with "Bush's approval numbers up" are shills. This is an amazingly low number. It is said that it comprises his hard core base. They've got to be hanging on to some weak threads.

Remember Clinton in the middle of impeachment and for the rest of his term polled in the 60% range.

Polls are crap, but this one is so low that it reveals a president who isn't much liked or respected for whatever job he thinks he's doing.

7. Gas prices went down drastically (if only temporarily) which helped
Besides lower gas prices, the failure of Bush's critics and Dems to put forth a consistent Iraq exit strategy plus reports that troops ARE going to be reduced soon has probably helped him in the polls. I heard on news that Dems in Congress are going to try this week to carve out consensus to put forward a unified Iraq exit strategy.

9. I'm surprized by most DUers reaction to *'s upward trend
in the polls lately.

Common sense and 5 years of exposure to the * propaganda machine should tell you that if anything SOUNDS too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true!

*'s upward trend in the polls is just another lie that's being repeated over and over and over again to make us believe it!

Come on, people! We're smarter than this!

10. keep in mind that the MSM is controlled by bushco* and their familiars...
...there is an all-out effort to stop bushco*'s freefall numbers. I guarantee polls are being fudged, accurate and impartial indicators are being obscured and multi-billion dollar media conglomerates are just praying they can keep distracting us with the White House Christmas cards and missing blond girls long enough to keep us from taking a very hard look at their complicity in this fucking mess. If the MSM says bushco* is at a 40% approval rating, assume the numbers are deliberately skewed 5% to 10% for bushco*.

Contrast to the Clinton years when the MSM did everything they could to force Bill's numbers down.

20. I regret to say I am not surprised by this.
It is sad but true that many of Bush's supporters are just too stupid to get it. They're not really interested in the war or what Bushco is doing to the Constitution or the environment or any of the other myriad issues and scandals stemming from this corrupt regime. They're interested in the price of gas which at the moment is relatively low and the economic picture which they have recently been told is quite good - never mind that it is only quite good if you already happen to be making 150 or 200K a year. Tell these people something, anything, that makes them feel warm and fuzzy, and Jr.'s numbers will go up. As others here have noted though, this upswing in his ratings is only temporary. The prediction is that gas prices will be back up over $3.00 per gallon this spring, and that warm, fuzzy feeling will diminish (along with Dubya's ratings) when his base again find they are paying over $60.00 to fill up the SUV.

22. Well what do you expect from a nation whose majority is made up of
superstitious bigoted religious idiots?

At this point I really am beyond worrying about this country and how it can save itself. It's a judgement call from taking a look at your average American.

You wanna put Jesus before your job and livelyhood go ahead but don't bitch me when you can't afford to fill that SUV.

24. Lieberman has been out front playing pat-a-cake with George.
The DLC has been gently massaging Bush's nuts. Maybe that's had something to do with it?

Some folks once again believe the happy-horseshit about the economy ?

Gas prices were going a bit lower for a time, although they are once again rising.

George Bush really is a great president?

Whatever it is, there was a big push to change the perception that Bush was in free-fall. The DLC did their part by jumping on Dean and agreeing that Bush's murderous rampage in the Mid-East is kinda cool. he'll be tumbling again soon.

I'm also seeing a dampening of the mood for "Bush-be-gone" the past couple weeks.

After the nation gets back to business in January, Bush will sink again.

I think his numbers came up because he didn't fuck up anything this week.

"I'll support him, he didn't screw up this week and that's one week in a row for me!"

30. Maybe Diebold has started
helping the polling firms.

No, it is more likely the decrease in gas prices. Our short memory span and the fact that the hell we are pouring on Iraq is out of sight and, therefore, out of mind also contributes. At least 60% still has Bush's number!!

God bless our soldiers.
