So I'll say it for the Thousandth TIME!!!!

This is my one thousandth post on DU -- so I finally have achieved that all-elusive 'THREAD CRED'!

I thought I'd mark the occasion by sending out a :hi: to my DU family!

Over the course of my association with the DU posters, I have experienced more :rofl: than I can recount. I have seen some of the wittiest one-liners right here on DU, and appreciate the sharing of laughter in such trying times for all of us who are concerned about our beloved country.

I have also been brought to :cry: more than a few times; I have often logged-on in the wee hours, to see posters sharing their sense of loss due to a family death; I have seen people asking to have a relative or neighbour remembered in prayers, because they are on their way to Iraq, or have just come home, broken and damaged.

The feeling of :pals: is often overwhelming, and I have a sense of family every time I visit the site.

Some of the most brilliant :think: ideas are born right here in the Discussion Threads. I often wonder why we Democrats have ever lost an election, with such great minds at work! :shrug:

The Administrators here at DU deserve much praise, which perhaps is not expressed often enough. They have created not just a website, but a family setting :grouphug: that provides a place to exchange thoughts and ideas, and an inviting atmosphere that fosters understanding between we Democrats -- even when we have very different views :spank:

So here's a heartfelt thank you to everyone, to all of my new-found on-line friends, and to those friends I have yet to meet! :toast:

I'm a slow poster. As in, I've been here for close to six years and I still haven't hit 10K. I've seen people get to 1000 in less than a month.

11. Although I've had many articles published ...

... here on DU, I only joined the Discussion Threads a few months ago. I've hit 1,000 pretty quickly -- not because I'm diligent, but because I have a VERY BIG MOUTH, and can't help expressing my (sometimes idiotic) opinions about virtually EVERYTHING!

(Note: My mother always said that someday my penchant for yapping endlessly would pay off -- as always, she was right!)
