The Belt Way Boys on Fox News. Who are these dried up
prunes? Mort and Fred. What a couple of turds these guys are.

Mort said his hero is Joe Lieberman.

Fair and balanced with Mort as a Moderate to right wing idiot and Fred as the ultra right wing idiot.

These guys are 100% republican propagandists!

1. I hate the Beltway Boys
Fox's Trying to portray all Democrats out of the mainstream by throwing Kondrake in the mix. Fox claims he is a democrat but any observer knows Kondracke is simply a Republican Lite shill.

I mean, why is Lieberman a traitor? He hasn't done anything seditious. Maybe traitorous to the hard-left Democratic party but not to the nation and not to his office. And not, really, to the Democratic party at large.

16. You have to realize that on this site, most people disagree.......
with Bush on just about everything.....fuck it, everything. Lieberman in the past weeks has suddenly jumped ship from his democratic colleagues and supported Bush whole-heartedly. Democrats in Congress have even go so far as to say that he is "completely alone". If you cannot then see why I think Lieberman is a traitor, then I do not know what to say.

But there are some Democrats that aren't gainst the war. I certainly understand why some would feel betrayed by him fluffing up Bush's credibility but has he contadicted himself? I mean, was he staunchly anti-war before the war started or has he shifted? I can't remember.

30. When I think of "hard left" I think of folks that resemble the hard right
You know, all that "all hail the armed struggle of the revolutionary forces" crap, dressing in camo, despising those who just want to have a good party time, rather than wanting to follow the dictates of the party.

I hate that kind of nonsense.

As for saying there's no way things will turn out well under any movement that calls itself conservative or Project for the New American Century plan, well that's just common sense.

Fighting for public services protections benefits and rights isn't far left.

Fighting for the idea that those who are richer should be taxed at a higher rate than those who are poorer isn't far left either, it's just good economic sense.

I dont like the terms "left" and "right". They are to black and white, when reality is a shade of grey. I sort of agreed with some of the "old conservatives" (before they became flesh eating zombies) on things like too much gov. regulation on where you can smoke, stuff like that, the gov. intruding on your everyday life.

45. uh-oh, please read whole post...
I voted for Bush for a few reasons but mnostly because I was sick to my stomach over the blow dried, pompous attitude and wishy-washy record of John Kerry. This was the very first election i ever voted in where I felt like I had to choose the lesser of the evils. Voted for Jerry Brown in 1992 and Clinton in 1996. There's just absolutely no way I could vote for Kerry.

I will say it was a weird feeling voting for Bush at the top of teh ballot and against Georgia's referendum banning gay marriage at teh bottom of the ballot.

46. Ever hear this joke?
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

53. It depends...
I don't think that someone is excluded from reasonable, thoughful commentary either pro-or-against the war simply because they've not done military service but I do see what you mean. I have problems with those people who seem to ahve a blood lust yet, as you put it, "can't be bothered" by performing the task themsleves.

As far as GWB's service is concerned, though, this seems to be a problem with the structure of the military. True, he want't defending Texas from the Viet Cong but the military is structed so that this type of service is deemed an acceptable completion of ones service. Should this be changed? I don't know. But perhaps the military is organized incorrectly in times of war.

I think people have a responsibility to know what they're talking about.
Having knowledge of ones subject isn't "obsession". It's smart.

Are you saying that Europeans at large have no interest or knowledge of how the internal structure of their militaries work?

56. All I'm saying is that in
America there is a preoccupation with the miltary, across the board, that you do not see in western Europe. Sure, Europeans have a knowledge of their militaries, but 'the military' and military service is not such a big deal in society at large.
