When pundits are asked about Bush's "jump" in the polls,... |

I wish they would respond with, "well, it's still 30 points below Clinton on the day he was impeached".

2. So Bush is able to travel from city to city and give speech after speech.. |
|
and the media just plays bits and pieces, but never challenges him? No wonder is numbers inched up a notch. He has flat out lied in his speeches and has not been held accountable. Instaed we get the "war on xmas" and the medai questioning dems as to what they wuld do in Iraq and let's remind them that some voted to authorize the use of force as a "last resort". But never question Bush and his lies or Rove and what is becoming clear, his act of treason.

...what the pundits would be saying if this were a Democratic president? "Despite repeated efforts, the president has been unable to make much of an improvement in his approval ratings."
The Washington Post, which shoehorned the phrase "popular wartime president" into stories about Bush for about 18 months after 9/11, now speaks of his "sagging" popularity, as though it were still true that more people approved of him than disapproved of him. The Post also holds to the fiction that Clinton went out as a controversial president and Reagan as a highly popular one, which an alert reader (to use a Dave Barryism)debunked in a letter to the editor. He/she pointed out Clinton had a higher approval rating on leaving office than did Reagan!
