Anderson Cooper is in Iraq - First Article 'War is Hell'
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/12/12/btsc.cooper/index.html

"I had my first gun pointed at me today".

He's in Iraq to cover the elections. This first article is pretty damning. I hope
he does as good a job in Iraq as he did in New Orleans. He'll be there for a
week - hope he makes it home safely, as he does seem like a risk taker.

2. Now Cooper (Vanderbilt) will claim to be "combat" vet !
I can't wait to hear his self-aggrandizing tales of combat, like Bill O'Reilly's !

Suffice it to say I doubt if Anderson gets his ass in the grass like real journalists did in Vietnam.

19. He already is
He's done plenty of on the ground reporting in Afghanistan, Somalia, Kosovo... Long before he became "hot".

Lay off Anderson.

4. Thanks
Appreciate the heads-up. I haven't been watching him lately. I should, though. He's one of the most intelligent people you'll see out there.

6. I take it
You're no fan of Anderson Cooper. At least he's gotten off his ass and is
attempting to cover the mess over there. We all do a lot of talking over here
sitting safely at our little computers being sarcastic about a lot of people,
even the ones who are at least trying to do something more than just chat away.

7. I was being completely serious. I love Anderson Cooper.
Maybe my post read strangely?

But I really am concerned about his well being. It's dangerous over there and if he's already had a gun pointed at him...I don't like that, and I'm kind of disappointed that he's going to be running here there and everywhere--although I know that's what some reporters do. He looked so haggard after Katrina...I really, honestly don't want him to hurt himself or get hurt.

One thing I did edit out of my post was the urge to call him "my sweet baby" Anderson. Huge crush.

10. Sorry Tjdee
So many people have this disdain for him and I thought you were being really
sarcastic. I really admire this guy and think so many just simply have it out for him. He's a hard worker and does not show boat, he simply cares.

I agree, he's a cutie and better be careful.

8. Unlike Giuliana Sgrena, he doesn't have a Nicola Calipari protecting him.
I hope he is very, very careful.

Peace.

9. "Welcome to Iraq. The cops dress like insurgents, and the insurgents dress
... like cops. Nothing is easy. Nothing is what it seems."

He's clearly not a Rove stenographer; I just hope he survives.

Peace.

11. I rarely watch the "Corporate Noise Network", as long as Cooper
is working for CNN, I question his credibility. His corporate masters will allow him to report just enough to make it seem like he is digging up some dirt but he is still answering to them and they are still answering to the BFEE.

20. Do you question Keith Olbermann's credibility
He works for MSNBC.

Cooper isn't perfect but he's doing more than blow jobs these days. That's better than most of the presstitutes.

12. Isn't this interesting...
One of the main reasons that Junior didn't get away with his Katrina crimes--is because Anderson Cooper and other brave journalists exposed the truth and demanded answers.

BushCo expected that they could control the Katrina stories, as they do the Iraq stories. They did not count on Anderson Cooper getting so pissed off.

The primary reason that America is not pissed off about Iraq--is because the media is NOT telling the truth and they are not showing the reality.

I am happy to hear that Cooper is in Iraq. He needs to do some serious "Katrina reporting" over there and tell the damn truth.

I hope he isn't over there to cheerlead the fake elections and to put a happy face on this disaster.

We can only hope that Cooper shows America what is being done in our name.

Come on Anderson---do your job and make us proud. Just show the truth.

17. No kidding
If we hadn't SEEN what was happening after Katrina...it would have seemed to horrible to be true. It was too horrible to be true, but true none the less
